The fact that American buyers are paying the same as UK buyers when a large amount of that is due to VAT charges which don't apply for international buyers.

A massive issue that lad, so the on-line currency converter doesn't remove the Vat, must be costing us a huge amount of revenue that oversight.

Tell you what why don't you e-mail Elstone directly & point out this hideous mistake, I'm sure once it's rectified we'll be selling shirts by the container load in Alabama mate. While you're at it, ask him why kitbag aren't selling our shirts in Wallmart, because there's at least 5 posters on GOT who'd be queueing up to take them (y)

Nope.

Just because Nike decide that there isn't a large enough guaranteed profit doesn't mean it isn't worth it for Everton. LCS, a smaller company decided that there was profit to be made from women and baby kits for several years, it was only when Nike with their much larger minimum order requirements came in that this changed.

Obviously we probably wouldn't sell 10000 women's shirts, but we sold enough every year for LCS to continue making them and presumably making a profit.

LCS made what they were told to make, they didn't give a fig if we sold them or not.

Do you not think that there's maybe a clue as to how much was actually made from these products, by the fact that they're no longer available? Just a thought like.

You totally missed the point. The VAT issue is nothing to do with costing the club money, it's the fact that it costs the international buyers more than it should.

Are you seriously implying Everton are some tiny club that wouldn't sell a decent amount of kids in the US ? And if we are that small, surely something is wrong.

Source ?

Just because Nike have a minimum order of 10,000 doesn't mean the club couldn't have made money from selling women or baby kits.

I didn't the miss the point at all, you obviously missed my sarcasm though.

How big are you 'guessing' that this market is for EFC shirts in the US?

Even the massively supported CL clubs don't sell massive numbers of shirts in the US, our market would be 2/3rds of **** all, certainly not big enough to have some convoluted & expensive distribution network over there ffs.

How is having a retail presence in the US automatically convoluted and expensive ?

Not a clue what the market potential is then, thanks for clearing that up.

And you have no clue whether one exists or not.

I'll side with the majority of premier league clubs who sell their kits in the US over a bunch who knocked down a wall to build an extension on land they had no rights to.

The international thing is just one part of it anyway, a deal which doesn't allow the production of kits for women or babies, and a deal which prevents people buying shirts at retail anywhere other than Liverpool are two more failings.

Everton Shareholders' Association latest:

Everton Shareholders’ Association Chairman John Blain and two colleagues from the Executive Committee met Everton CEO Robert Elstone and Communications Director Paul Tyrell earlier today at Goodison Park.

The meeting was the first in a series that are scheduled for this year and continues the open and regular dialogue that the Association enjoys with the Club. A wide variety of subjects were covered during the 90 minute meeting including; the Association’s EGM petition, the Premier League and UEFA Financial Fair Play initiatives, the recent transfer window, the Club’s recently published Financial Accounts and Shareholder benefits.

The Association attendees felt that the meeting was productive and welcomed the openness of both Mr Elstone and Mr Tyrell.

I agree with Foot Long. I'm sorry but of the long, LONG list of things that need to improve at the club, having shirts more readily available in the US is very close to the bottom.
I reckon you could count on 1 hand how many americans would love an official top but will only buy one from a local 'store'.
We're talking about losing out on a hundred bucks a year here ffs

That was never even the original point anyway. It was a small part of the overall merchandise incompetence.

You do know they have supporters groups in Boston, New York, Chicago, and Seattle right ? Fairly sure there would be more than hundreds of dollars to be made.

Not just hundreds, not just thousands, not even millions but..............
