I'm not sure how it could work but it would be amazing if we could put a supporters trust together where evertonians across the world all put some money in & we started buying the assets back.

Boys in Blue - I'm not saying it's 'harsh', I'm just not putting an emotive driven slant on the 'facts', there's the difference.

I base my view on how I see it, I think a lot of those who pass comment do so from a trench & their angle on the reality reflects that. I think that kind of standpoint adds nothing to the course for change, in fact quite the reverse, as those who are more moderate seem to disengage. You only have to look at a couple of the responses to me in the last page or so, to see why that might happen.....

Actually agree with most of this the club has effectively swapped off field assets for on field arguably the sale of Felli and Baines would come near to balancing the equation admittedly putting us nearly back to square one of a decade ago.

The area of real loss is the wage increase but every fan has their own view if that has given value for money.

The valid criticism of the board for me is have they speculated with their own cash to get a return later on? improving the ground putting extra money in to improve CL chances (as this season) - It appears not.

Exactly right Nigel imo. The inability or unwillingness of the current incumbents to 'speculate to accumulate' means that we have little or no chance of organic growth. Unless the academy can spit out a Rooney every other year, then we're never going to move on from where we are now under their model (or lack of one!)

But that's just one of their inabilities. The inability to clinch the NTL deal by drawing that out with Bill's well honed negotiating skills, the inability to recognise the scale of the "deal" in terms of UK/European public money that was on offer for the Kings Dock, the inability to stop lying to their fans, the inability to answer questions (AGM's or otherwise), are also a touch concerning even to even handed objective moderates like myself and DaveK.

I brought up the securitisation of the overdraft because it's a fact, apologies for wishing to deal in facts, rather than hyperbole.

I love the way that anyone daring to be even handed when discussing anything in this area, is then automatically classed as being a defender of Kenwright. In my case it's nothing of the sort, Kenwright needs to move on, but I don't see what over blowing the truth does to aid that agenda.

As for the assets, Bellefield was liquidised, but the Finch farm land was bought & sold by who & when exactly? They sold a patch of grass & lease a training facility, there's a distinct difference. If you advocate that the club should have funded the build itself with on balance sheet debt, then you'd also have to accept that player funding over that period would have been reduced by that amount, or that the debt level would have increased by the same amount.

The stadium has a securitised loan attached, the asset still exists, the value of the asset is still the same, the cash value of it has gone nowhere, this is totally different to liquidising an asset as per Bellfield.

I disagree that the outsourced deals are necessarily bad business, time will tell. Albeit I'd say that loss making functions turned straight into profit making doesn't sound like the worst deal in the World.

The debt level has increased & the balance sheet looks poor, but if the intangible assets i.e. the players, were on there at their true value, compared to the true value at the time you're choosing to look back to, then it'd be a different picture to the one you're wishing to portray.

I find it irritating that we can't look at this issue objectively, rather than with a slant, as even when looked at objectively it doesn't alter the fact that Bill is taking us nowhere, as he lacks the financial muscle & werewithall to develop the club beyond what it is today.

Thats a very good, level headed post and I would agree with or at least find an argument in favour of all of it.Concerning the 'outsourcing'. When our previous CEO was at Aberdeen he outsourced to Sodexo, and although on a smaller scale to Everton, the success there encouraged Wyness that it might solve the problem of our loss making catering facilities. We now have AWARD WINNING catering at corporate level, and the only reason this cannot be expanded is lack of space for more 'corporates'...some may say that we don't sell out corporates now...but honestly if there was more space available and we had a successful team,we would sell more. Sodexo are market leaders in their field, but for some, what is good enough for Newcastle (cash rich) United, Wimbledon Tennis, Royal Ascot, The Open, assorted other racecourses, Wembley Stadium, Hampden Park and others is not good enough for Everton. As Hot Dog says, wait and see about outsourcing before using it as an unproven stick to beat the club.
Having had some minimal dealings with BK in his day job, and knowing many who have dealt with him when he has his theatre/film producer hat on, I can see how it has been difficult to adapt his methods in his core industry to the business of football. I went on at great length about this on the old Kipper board, and haven't the time or energy to do that again at the moment, but will in due course.
I think Sheedy if he remembers, might recall the gist of my comments.

is there anyway of contacting Kenwright/ member of our board? why not send the redcoat a link to the arsenal story and ask him why isnt he on the blower to this arab group as we speak who are after Arsenal

The usual(obvious) reasons...to name a few...massive London club with new stadium, which with a few tweeks to the team to make it successful will sell out at around twice the amount a full GP would bring in. Large and increasing Arab community in London buying all the most expensive properties, apart from a few Russians, massive fan base with waiting list for season tickets etc., etc.,.......discuss....

Buying arsenal is a totally different proposition to buying everton and I think even the most blinkered of us can see that . Does that mean we couldn't have been sold by now of course not but I'm not convinced there are too many similarities or comparisons to enable us to further beat kenwright

Definitely see that, but it's reflected in the market value of the club.

The enterprise value of the club needs to be minus the outstanding debt of the club. So far as I can understand the owner want.s to sell the club for 150m and in addition ask the buyer to pay of the debt as well.....hence no buyer still we worry about a bad man buying the club !

to think Bill paid 20m for the club and not a penny of it was his own.
