Imagine the reaction to 13 years of disaster if he wasn't an Evertonian? He pulls the strings on our fans with his sentimental tosh and loads fall for it - people who in every other area of their lives would laugh in the face of any chancer trying to mug them off.

You can see the hold he has right now with the Moyes contract situation. "Bill needs to sack him FFS!".

Unbelievable.

Ha Ha - is this your approach? Every few weeks trot out the same old crap? You're a broken record and them some. There's just no point going over the same arguments every 20 or so pages on this thread.

It is possible not to hate Kenwright but still love the club and not be a Moron. Together with your cohorts on here you seek to create such a negative culture that anyone that's not out burning a Bill effigy every night is a bloody devil worshipper.

There is no evidence of any fraud or dodgy dealing in Kenwright's 13 years at the club.

There is no evidence of there being any serious bidders at the door in those 13 years.

Unless you believe that maybe 100+ professionals at the club are "all in on it" then the less than great commercial performance of the club in the last decade is just down to the simple fact that we're not the club we once were. However much it hurts to say it we've got a crap old stadium, we're the second team in a piss poor city and haven't won a title for 25+ years.

Kenwright and the board are responsible for several major cock-ups. Most recently that would be the January transfer window and Moyes' contract farce. Both instances smack of poor business sense. But in both I believe Moyes is the key man and has to shoulder at least half the blame for the Jan window crap and 90% of the blame for his contract.

And of course there are other mistakes as well but all this anti-Kenwright stuff smacks of a playground mentality where a load of big fat kids are jealous of the kid in the corner with nice clothes and a shiney new train set.

If the Blue Union gang spent 10% of their time trying to be constructive then I'd listen.

Likewise if just one half decent, half serious bidder for the club raised their head above the parapet then I'd be all ears and be wanting to give them my full support.

But there isn't and that's my point. This 'leaking' of the Arsenal interest just proves that the complete absence of any such stories surrounding Everton is not down to confidentiality contracts, smoke and mirrors or the power of Philip Green's mafia connections. It is down the very dull reality that nobody fancies us as a business proposition for all the reasons previously given.

...and Sodexxo have been caught with horsemeat in their pies. You've poisoned us Bill!

Arsenal and Everton are in different leagues when it comes to interest in buying a club.

Yes, he's been a very unlucky chairman and major shareowner hasn't he? 13 years and 3 months in control of Everton and zero investment...not one shiny penny....not one brass farthing.

Owners of dozens of other clubs have just been fortunate in attracting money.

Why are Kenwright's supporters so aggressive and obnoxious in defending the man ? It's driving those fans willing to ignore the long list of damaging critical failures in managing the club straight into the arms of the likes of the Blue Union.

As an even handed moderate observer of the situation, who doesn't mind being lied to by the board, this defensiveness has me worried.

SSN is reporting this morning that these sheiks have looked at other clubs 'including Everton'....but one attraction of Arsenal is the large trough of cash they have, the new stadium, and the 'manager with an international reputation.
I honestly don't think we have any of those things at Everton(!), and doubt that there is much legitimacy in SSN mentioning us...maybe its just because on the rare occasion that a cash rich potential buyer of a football club is around, the media throws our name into the mix.Seems to me that in reality these particular sheiks are shopping for something that isn't anything like Everton, as someone suggested above.

So when there's no interest nobodys interested and when there is interest there's still nobody interested, really.

We will never be taken over while Kenwright is in charge, the best we can hope for is a certain level of investment to ensure he sees progress and not a total buy out.

He won't budge.

Hang on a minute that's not a fair statement at all. This thread is full of one line random insults at Kenwright. I'd go so far as to say most of it is like that.

And to add to that I don't class myself as a Kenwright supporter. I just don't hate him as some on here clearly do.

Glad I finally understood your 'style'.

I'd argue that nobody fancies us as a brand and a good part of that would fall on BK.

Aside from the Glazers nobody who has done big takeovers lately has behaved like they are looking for a money making business proposition. Chelsea and City are the most successful and they have both poured so much money into their clubs that turning a profit seems like a long-shot. There are also a lot of easier ways for billionaires to make a profit than owning a football club.

The Joneses (in their 1% of the 1%) might all have Veyrons but not everyone has a top flight football club.

If you fade the "business" part like you should then you're still left with Arsenal being a more attractive proposition of course. However if you accept the notion that this is status and brand more than "an investment opportunity" then you wonder why a man who is a promoter for a living can't promote Everton to seem like a more attractive brand. It's not even a lie ... we do have a great history.

Of course the part we don't sing in the "if you know your history" is "sadly nobody does." If we were in a US league (where some teams actually market their history and some fans actually care) we'd have been sold already.
