If Moyes could persuade his current bunch of players(the best he's ever had...his words) to finish off teams who have no right to ever be in touching distance of drawing with or beating us, and if the same Moyes would not continually coach all the goals out of his strikers, and if he would not use as his main second half tactic 'defend desperately ' we could save £40 million and still be in with a better shout than we are now of fourth place.

This thread is for discussing the board lad.

To be fair, irrespective of the truth or validity of the proposition, it would weaken this thread if one couldn't formulate an argument pro/contra the board using notions beyond the imediate subject like :)

Surely you mean if people couldnt try and point the disscussion away from the Board?

That could be to defend the board though dude, that is, 'a' is not the boards fault, it was caused by 'b', perhaps. But you're right imo if you mean thread hi-jacking/wum-in/repeatedly and irrelevently airing one's view on a particular subject :)

Its always the Boards fault tho.

Ive yet to see anything not.

Contra was a decent player, nothing to do with the everton board though mate

Yes,sonny, and I'm explaining how the board can save the mythical £40 million people are talking about. Do try to keep up.

Everton, who have the tenth most expensive squad in terms of money invested into the playing staff (wages, fees etc), want to finish 4th. Which would mean either investing more money into it or out performing six clubs on significantly larger budgets.

Your argument is that the latter is what should be done not the former. And the failiure to consistently out perform clubs with wage bills twice ours and transfer bills 35 times ours is more glaring and unacceptable than the failiure to supply competitive finances?

Lol, get back to bluekipper, coaching goals out of strikers, apart from michu, in recent times, what striker has not cost multi millions. You pay for what you get, ask alan ferguson. He has spent next to nothing assembling the squad he has currently .....

...but its so friendly, and adult, on here......:)...Rhodes for around £8 million(what Blackburn paid) looked to me like a typical Moyes punt, for one...but back on topic, its easy to 'blame the board' for everything, and it happens at most clubs, unless the manager gets on the wrong side of the crowd, then it becomes the board and the managers fault. We definitely need either a change of ownership or massive investment(very unlikely without investors wanting the power that they would be entitled to expect.) The anti Bill K brigade accuse others of trotting out the same reasons why we've not got new owners/investment ...poor ground, deprived area, massive investment required making medium term profits impossible, but the fact is that these situations genuinely do exist. The proximity of the RS doesn't wash as an excuse with me, our time will most certainly come again, firstly on the pitch, and that will be the beginning of another, yes, another, power shift on Merseyside.
Re Moyes, anyone who ever read 'that other forum' will know my view...I have never thought he had the quality to 'take us to the top level'...just my opinion......but he has lasted a long time in the job and in modern football thats to his credit. I do still think, however that the Everton job is the best he will ever have in his career, he certainly isn't Man Utd material, at the very most if he wanted to try his luck elsewhere someone like FC Twente might be a challenge for him. I don't think he'd last long under new, ambitious, rich owners at Everton, but then again, thats just my opinion.

Yep that's right, if we stopped being defensive like against Norwich where we bought on Mirallas and lost, or Wigan where we started 2 up front, we would definitely beat the billionaire teams to the CL spots.
If only he hadn't tried to motivate his team by saying they were the best bunch he had had and instead said they were hopelessly poor we would be in at least 3rd.
If only he hadn't told Jelavic to keep missing sitters we'd probably be winning the league,
But mostly we could save 40mil if other teams simply realized that as we are Everton we have a divine right to win games... I blame Moyes rather than Kenwright for not moaning how unfair it is that opposition teams also play against us instead of letting us score. Its just out of order.
Since that isn't going to happen then I reckon we still need 40mil a year + from the new owners and that's simply not going to happen because of ffp.
