I truly believe we would have the manchester city owners.

Absolutely no chance of that. The sheiks were very close friends with Shiniwatra, and saved his skin by buying him out. They would never have bought Everton. Shinwatra had paid very little in actual money into City, he was just full of promises, and was trying desperately to transfer the wealth he had into the UK, because he was in danger of losing it all. Other City directors paid the wage bill for at least 3 months before the sheiks bought the club.

Vincent Tan put £50 million into Cardiff last summer and is getting slated but surely we'd all love a chairman like that who invests his cash? That's what we want right? Bill sells to whoever tells him they're investing the most? Can't think of any owners other than City's' sheiks I'd rather have out of all the "new owners" the leagues seen this past 10 years. Who should Bill have sold to?

Do you think Cardiff fans would celebrate or riot if tan swapped Cardiff for Everton and a skint bill was their chairman instead?

Depends whether or not they like playing in the Premier League.

With every stupid owner other clubs have, I do think we are somewhat lucky.

I realise financially we tread water, which may or may not be linked to ego and power and control, but at the end of the day, I think a new owner willing to massively invest in the club, without changing many key things about the club and destabilising it as a result, is a nigh on impossible person to find. And I do think we are now at the stage where we are possibly 'better the devil you know'. My views have changed slightly with the increase in utterly baffling decisions made at other clubs that have very rich owners - Cardiff, Sunderland, Chelsea (in terms of managerial turnover), WBA to a lesser extent.

What are you smoking I would hate to have a Cardiff/hull owner Bill is a lot of things but he is a supporter of the club . Sure he doesn't give much money out but we know atleast that we are going to be stable under him

The main point is owners like Tan and Aslam wouldn't come along to a club of our stature simply because the fans/media would be on their back alot more (look at hicks and gillette and Liverpool)

Theirs a reason why both clubs were in the championship when these guys approached:

a. Cheap to buy

b. Fans more likely to accept changes in return of premier league football (not all supporters however)

c. Both clubs in financial problems at the time so owners can justify their actions eg. "I saved you from financial ruin so I can do what I like you owe me that" whereas the TV deal probably has us breaking even now

Bang on

I'm wary of using the Tan/Aslam/etc. examples as a way of looking positively at Kenwright and the board. They're obviously power-mad and inconsiderate of fans, but there's a logical disconnect to say 'at least we don't have Tan' (at least we're not Villa). If you get home from work every day and your brother is ball-deep into your wife while your kid's eating dog food you don't say 'at least I'm not married to Vlad the Impaler, like that guy I know who lives in south Wales'. No, sir.

Just because other clubs have crapper owners shouldn't make anyone defend ours for just being a bit less crap.

Exactly what is so bad about Allam at Hull other than the Tiger name change, is he not a fan of Hull??

Allam has invested his own cash into the club, and has plans to increase the capacity of the Stadium by 10k and use the surrounding area around the stadium to make a sports park to generate cash for the club.

Not sure if it was last year, or the year before but he donated over a million quid to Hull KR to improve the stadium and get players ( Rugby League ) no questions asked, just a gift as he feels he owes the area of Hull so much for taking him in when he left Egypt.

Compared to Bill who does not have a plan B after the Kirkby debacle and is slowly year by year increasing the net debt.

Exactly, if you came home from work and saw Peter Sutcliffe with a hammer in the house you would not go " Fcuk, wait a minute it could be worse. It could be Freddy Kruger and Michael Myers "
