We only finished 5th because man u and spurs had really poor season's we could have easily finished 7th or 8th we need investment

We could easily of came 4th as well, Spurs had pure coin to spend last summer and it didnt help them

If we don't sell one of our top players this summer I may start to believe we are breaking even

But we didnt sell a top player last summer, if we needed to we could of sold Baines but we gave him a extended contract. However we sold a player for well over the odds for a crazy over inflated price, a player we didn't miss. Nice one Bill!!

Defending what? I'm all for a takeover, bill leaving etc! I just find this and the timing sad really, happens every year, I like to think The majority of Evertonians are well read and think independently on the issue! The dogma and canvassing as I say is irritating, opportunistic, tedious, lacking originality and current analysis at this stage! I think time and the debate has left this thread and many of the recent posts/ers behind!

I'd also like to remind I want investment, takeover etc in the right circumstances!

so......

brush it under the carpet then.

its the end of the season perfect time to talk about it. or should we talk about it during the season?

please tell me when?

Brush what under the carpet mate? They've just announced a projected set of accounts with a projected jump of 30 mill in turnover, massive reduction in debt and possible announcement of a new ground before the start of the season. There's been threads on it. Would you like to add your end of season analyse mate?

I couldn't be bothered if Bill is here in the morning or not, but seems this descends into nothing more the dogma at best or name calling, trying to work out are we for sale or not - while you'll never really know!

I'm sorry actually, takes all kinds.....have a good summer in here lads, go mad play the BU/Keioc YouTube clip of a revamped Goodison - the one with the hotel!

Apparently Randy Lerner is selling Villa. If he gets a good price (which I am sure he will as he has done such a great job there) then maybe he can come and invest in Everton. Won't it be so exciting to be involved in relegation battles again (I get bored when we hit the magic 40 points too early in the season). Come on - you know you want those days back again.

your right mate bill and the board worked very very hard getting that extra £30m into the club.

bit in bold should be our boards motto.

Finch farm,we cannot compete in the transfer market with city's Chelsea's and utd's of this world, we must produce our own,and that is exactly what we are doing.
Long may it continue.
Our board didn't invest in Finch Farm, they sold off the land to a developer to make the investment

Sell and lease back is exactly what 'big companies' do to create usable cash flow.nd its exactly what Everton have done as well.
But big companies will sell a valuable finished proprty at a high value and lease back at a fraction of the price. Our board did the opposite

[teve Wigan, post: 2723278, member: 2789"]Genuine answer...no one...no one 'gives' money to a football club unless they are using it as a plaything/ to improve their credibility in the UK/ to increase awareness of their culture and other business interests in the UK. All so called benefactors apart from the above(you know the three I mean) have loaned their clubs sums of money , in varying amounts, which are paid back at varying rates of interest, some favourable and some not. The majority of these clubs are worse off than Everton, both according to the balance sheets, and on the field of play. When you do not have a Sheik , a Russian oil billionaire, or a billionaire American behind you, you have to tread carefully, be opportunistic when its relatively safe to do so, and subject the club to stringent, yet flexible , restraints financially. This means you either stand relatively still, or make slow but steady progress on and off the field.[/QUOTE]
I deliberately used the word invest. As opposed to asset stripping. What the others have done is their concern, their methods, their allegedly dodgy reasons.
So, what has been invested into Everton FC?

I just can't grasp that people can still back this board in any way shape or form...

It just baffles me.
It baffles me that people think there is some Fairy Godmother out there who will wave a magic wand and EFC will have lots of money, a shiney new stadium and UCL football. Get a grip and look where we have come from and where we are now. Look at our financial position versus other similar clubs. Look at the squad we have. Look at the Youth set up. Look at the coaches. look at the Community work. Look at the season ticket sales. Look at Villa, Newcastle, Sunderland etc etc They would give their eye teeth to be where we are.
