The Everton Board Thread

Agree with this, 777 have interests in Sevilla, Genoa, Hertha Berlin, Red Star, Standard Liege, Melbourne Victory and Vasco de Gama

Its quite the 'group'. 7 'name' clubs there who when combined under one umbrella could look impressive.

They just lack the prestige name in the premier league

That's a bold statement to make with blue tinted glasses. Yeah we're in the Premier League, for now. They've got a stake in Seville who are in a European Semi Final.

If we go down do you honestly think our "brand" is worth more to them than Seville's?

Do i think owning Everton (if in the championship) is worth more than 15% in Sevilla.

Is this a trick question? As an investment even if both were 100% owned by 777 Everton is superior long term by a mile.

Its all about the premier league

They don't have the funds for a full take over

Last I saw was $6mil AUM

First one - we are and have been watching relegation-bringing boring football with no imagination or anything in it for years now. Mid table and a cup run probably looks amazing right now to anyone rather than another 'exciting' relegation fight. Long term obviously not but currently it's the best we can hope for for the foreseeable few years.

For City - probably not arsed as they're at the top of the game now and Goat is right about what he said - being stuck in past times hurts more than helps in reality.
It's a bit of a bizarre argument he's making that he doesn't want us to be mediocre and uncompetitive. It's as if he fell into a coma in 1987 and has just woken up.

I don't think there are many people out there that see Everton as a great investment due to the level of mis-management that has happen over so many years, so I don't see a Man City or Newcastle type owner coming to the forefront and wanting to take us over due to the absolute mess we find ourselves in, the best we can hope for at the moment is an investment type firm to come in and sort us out by giving us better commercial revenue and making the recruitment aspect a lot better and just having a plan of progress and most of all stability within this great football club, If this leads them to selling us for a profit then they have done there job very well which I think we all should want.

Mate, I agree with where your immediate ideals are aligned but are you really claiming now that you’re that tuned in to the club that you’re aware of the discussions at ownership level?

You’re actually hurting the majority with this nonsense.

What did I just say?

"they do not have the funds for a full take over"

Because I can read.
There is only so much you can get from the internet or company accounts.
If you look on line it line Kenwright is showing to have a nett worth of 5 to 9 million where is the 40 million he got for selling his shares ?
I am not having a pop as you may have some information that is not out there to the masses.
Regardless of that keep up the good work as I can see that you work tirelessly to expose the chairman and his lackies .

That'll be a wiki lie - offshore accounts/dodging capital gains tax. **taps nose

He doesn't have information not available to the masses, he thinks cause he works in law he's some king of genius. He just spouts rubbish so confidently it almost sounds like he's in the know, when challenged for proof he spouts silly sentences like wait and see.

What ever the size of the fund (rumoured to be 100 million) does not stop them from using leveraged debt to buy the club.

I can't help thinking about two or three extreme examples of the influence of the board, and how it doesn't match with what our board does

1) Forest Green Rovers - I know they're relegated , but that vision of eco-friendly development is clear, and they seem to have fun, and create a positive energy with it. It's a good example of a clear vision from board to players and fans, though of course on a small scale.

2) Chelsea now - the transfer policy not working out directly because of the owner, and no manager is l likely to fix it - they had this idea that 'life cycles' of 2-3 years of a team and manager's vision gets you a trophy or two every 2-3 years. That idea is unravelling because the vision is very scattered and not clear.

3) Wrexham - the influence of the owners seems to be in the PR, sponsorships, the 'fun' and the 'vibe' around the club. They're enjoying the ride.

Brighton seem to have a really good idea of how to manage a big player turnover, but to employ coaches with the same vision they are looking for. Despite Wolves being slightly inconsistent, they are following a plan too, and for clubs like this, establishing themselves as PL clubs is a big big step forward. On the other hand, clubs like Burnley under Kompany, Man U with Ten Hag and Arsenal with Arteta show that the board + manager impact can spell very quick success. For us, I would have been happy enough if Koeman, Martinez, Silva didn't really work out, but we were trying to build something. but the massive variety of transfers and coaches show that we just did not have a strategy.
