I, for one, welcome this impressively-executed statement of absolute nothingness from our benighted overlord.
If he and others take the club on an upwards curve away from the mistakes of the recent past, it will help to bury the recent misery. My children are hopeful. Keep renewing the tickets they say.

It was all vague fluff for the most part but to be fair to him the first thing he did was personally apologise for the mistake made that lead to last season. That alone is more than Bill (the biggest blue to walk the earth) has ever done. It wasn't perfect but it was a very small step in the right direction. Others now need to follow suit but ultimately actions speak louder than words. We need to see lessons have been learned and we need to see a change of a approach otherwise it's all meaningless.
Was a load of rubbish that said nothing and took 3 weeks to come out. As for the apology, he had to do it, how else do you start one. If he said he was removing Bill and Denise I’d be over joyed

If you worked closely with someone, who was an ally of a third party who mugged a 4th party, would you be guilty of profiting from the 4th party's loss?
His personal wealth is derived from the work he has done on behalf of Usmanov and his own investments surely
Moshiri is not directly linked to Putin and therefore not responsible for anything he does and it is ridiculous to suggest otherwise.
If he were, he'd be playing a very stupid and dangerous game calling him out like he has wouldn't he?
Separating the business interests of Usmanov and Moshiri requires a high degree of mendacity.

Was an excellent article. Also clarified that he IS still getting paid whilst the investigation is ongoing.
As someone has just said, player X is innocent until proven otherwise. I imagine the un-named club will have gone through everything looking at what they were legally allowed to do regarding termination or breach of contract but ultimately, until said player is charged - and given the sensitivity surrounding it, I'm not sure what else the club could have done.
There might be a legal argument - if found guilty were the club could try and claw back earnings paid over the last 12 months since the initial allegations were made and said player has been unavailable but again, given the nature of the alleged offence the focus shouldn't really be on a rich Football Club getting it's money back, but on supporting those affected by Player X's actions.

By the same token, if the CPS drops the case (maybe by the bail date in July when it sounds as though the judge will need convincing to extend) does the Club (and the Player for that matter) have any legal course for compensation?

The club for continued payment to a player who was unavailable, and the player for reputational damage?

This isn't me trying to absolve the player of all blame, just a legal question.

Could well be.

But you'd expect such a high profile case (accused of abhorrent crimes) would take quite a high priority.

I honestly suspect they're flapping.

We would surely be due significant compensation if it turns out to be nothing. Lost a first team player for an entire season because of it.
