The Everton Board Thread

I'm certainly not getting any hopes up about this until I see something official - the fact that the terms of this 'takeover/investment' keep changing from the usual Twitter subjects is both confusing and odd. I don't believe that the terms of the deal between Moshiri and MSP would have changed so drastically in such a short space of time, from a minority investment that provides funding for the stadium to a majority shareholding seemingly overnight...

Obviously more fool to anyone who believes what they read from unverified sources on Twitter. Something appears to be happening, hopefully it's a takeover and full turnover of the Boardroom, but until I see Najafi and Moorad draped in Everton merch and Kenwright and DBB being dragged kicking and screaming out of the club offices, it's best to just wait and see.

Again that the board and staff fault for buying awful players for way to much money not him
But it is him when he employes those staff members, also how many of those players were his ? Him hiring 3 DOFs and ive lost count on how many managers, who all want there own players, hasnt helped

Different era which you can’t grasp. Only a few teams had real money.

Over that time. Clubs like Stoke, Charlton, Ipswich, Fulham, Blackburn, Middlesbrough,Sunderland. Portsmouth. And plenty I’ve forgotten got top half in the prem. Blackburn, Swansea, Birmingham, Portsmouth, Wigan. Middlesbrough All won a trophy over that period.

Fulham and Middlesbrough got to a European final. The best we did was last 16, I’m sure Bill probably brought out a dvd for that European tour.

It wouldn’t have took a lot of money to get us top 4 and maybe a trophy or two in that era
How many of them are still in the Premier League? What happened to Portsmouth? and Wigan? I cant even tell you off the top of my head what league Swansea and Charlton are in now, mate that list was the worst thing you could of posted because we dont want to change places with any of them.
I wouldnt even want to change places with Leicester

I'm with your line of thought on this. I've no doubt the Esk gets info but sometimes his info has fell through/ not materialised and that could happen here still. It's not done til it's done but it is possible that the change in terms is due to our survival. Maybe they were only prepared to take a minor investment had we went down. If true and Esk is right I do still worry that Bill Kewright will somehow manage to convince them to let him stay on. Like you say until I see them officially leave it'll be a worry as Kenwright has been a stubborn cancer we've been unable to rid ourselves of easily.

Maybe in terms of what Moshiri could have offered.

But in the years that have unfolded since, we’ve found ourselves to be the worst run football club in the league and beyond bar none. The fella could probably write a book on how not to run a football club.

I’ll always be grateful for the stadium, but we need someone who can get this club back to operating to some form of sustainability before it’s too late. I’ve no idea if this crowd are the answer, but there doesn’t seem to be a queue of buyers/investors lining up for us in our current state and unfortunately, we are running out of time.
I dont think that's this lot though.

Any belief that they'll get us commercial deals and make governance more rational is based on nothing much.

They see a chance to make cash off Everton: either steady cash through interest or turning loans to equity in the event of a big buyout down the line.

Moshiri's behaviour in charge was the problem, not his commitment to invest cash into the team. We'll see no such investment from MSP. It's not what they do.

As I stated earlier: the clamour for them from some quarters is based on them sweeping the board room clean. But so what?

We just survived relegation no new owners going to come in and sell all the assets and not buy replacements otherwise they find themselves in League one and massively out of pocket

They'll hope that Dyche can sell more players and buy smartly to make the club more competitive.

No i meant the one before, when we got Gray, which was a good deal but if we had more to spend then it could of been an easier start to the season. Point i was making was Moshiri had pretty much stopped the funding now for 2 seasons
You're squirming to try to cover up the fact that the original point/slur you were making was wrong. FFP stopped us spending, nothing to do with Moshiri.

Sorry the point I was referring to was Bill not spending much money. You can cherry pick one big signing he made if you want, but there are seasons and seasons of little to no spend.

Moshiri has spent shed loads just spent it very poorly.

They both are to blame for the mess we are in
There was even a dedicated website at one stage which was basically just a ticking clock indicating the time spent since we last bought a player for actual money. IIRC after we signed Heitinga in 2009, we then went almost 2 years without spending money on a new signing. This in an era when football was awash with money. But it was Philip Green in control of the purse strings back then.

FFP was something Moshiri inflicted on us, so yes it was something to do with Moshiri, it was his, or rather Usmanovs money that caused it
