The Everton Board Thread

Whoever joins the board you will all turn on them in six months.

Hopefully someone does a reality series on the happenings at Everton this summer.
Oh, look. It's the better the devil you know" defence for Kenwright. Whoever comes in will be given a period of time to turn the club around. After a given period, I will have an opinion on them based on their performance. Just like when we sign a new player and exactly how it should be. If we get an awful new chairman in, it doesn't mean Kenwright wasn't a disaster.

How you can claim that as a defence for Kenwright is superb.

I've said for over 20 years he needs to be chased out of the club.

I think they’d be wary of that, sets a precedent should Man City be found guilty.

I tell you why it is unlikely imho.

We chased the dollar and it went wrong. Others have done.
Leicester. Villa are another who in a couple of years will be financially hard up as they haven't got the champs league revenues.

I dont think they can do points deductions to clubs when others are on the same trajectory and too far into the three year cycle to do anything about it.

Has any of his prognostications ever been correct?

I dont believe so. Id be interested to hear something that has been.

Yeah he was right about mata signing and also witsel he got spot on

But I think his best moment(moments?) Was the insistence that usmanov had absolutely nothing to do with everton and as we can see there has been no evidence for that at all

Its strange to have gotten so much wrong with at worst 50/50 odds and the evidence typically pointing to the opposite.

Its originally from the Bible it seems in the next verse to when we last won something

Old Testament.

The reporting of this is absolutely all over the place.

So MSP are taking a minority stake, for just £100m which is apparently worth a quarter of the entire club (despite the fact that our new stadium alone is worth north of £500m) and they will be replacing the two most important jobs in the Boardroom even though they are minority shareholders and their investment appears to be completely tied into the stadium build, not the club as a whole...

Something isn't adding up here.

Distressed project that needs funds to complete it.

You can demand a seat at the top table for your support and potentially something more in the future.

I'm just listening to another podcast now involving Esk and they have Matt Slater from The Athletic on it.

It seems Esk has gone off on a tangent here - the majority stake he seemed certain MSP were taking a couple of days ago seems to be no more than pure conjecture at this point.

All I'm taking from everything I've heard and read today is that nothing is near to being sorted, we have absolutely no clarity on what the ownership structure is going to look like, and this is going to rumble on for several weeks at least.

A little bit like a pay day loan. If you went to a bank and they offered you an APR of over 29.9%, you'd baulk at it. In fact, it should be a lot lower.

However if you're desperate for a cash, these places can give you APR into the hundred or thousands of percent. It's all about risk and requirements.

They are getting a stake at a lower price because the current owner needs the investment.

If that’s the case then I’m surprised Moshiri didn’t just sell the club to 777.

Either way I think both the mainstream media, and our ITK twitter army, have been equally as unhelpful during this whole chapter.

At least now they’re in direct conflict, Esk is saying MSP will have majority control and the Athletic going with minority control - we’ll know which side, if not both of them, is full of bs very soon.
