They can as long as its within limits.

It seems to me that even within these limits, Moshiri simply doesn't have the cash. Some have suggested that he has asked MSP for funding in addition to the stadium, to cover transfers, This seems to be forming part of the haggling in relation to the size of the equity stake they require as a result, and whether it will amount to a majority.

It's obvious that there was never going to be a significant amount of transfer funds to begin with, but there is surely some legroom for spending based on departing players, and whatever amount can be salvaged from the Gordon money, though I suspect most of that has been swallowed up in a black hole.

We will likely have to sell Pickford or Onana, and do it soon.

There is no scenario without it's problems imo. The club is in a very tough bind.

I'd say loans and frees will have to form an essential part of the plan, but I think that's effective only if we could add a couple of players on top. We need to be looking at 4 signings minimum.

You could also say that it shouldn't be hard to improve our goals output, even for a very small outlay, considering our forwards contributed virtually nothing over an entire season.

I think having even an average larger forward who could hold the ball up would help us a lot. 10 goals would be 9 more than Maupay, and the improvement to general play vs either Maupay or not having a strong striker at all would be pretty significant I'd say. Maybe even worth the extra 5 or so points to avoid a last day escape being needed
