The Everton Board Thread

I’m not saying that at all. I’m saying an owner’s responsibilities don’t begin and end at throwing a load of money into a pot for some arbitrary club employee to pick up. I don’t understand where this way of thinking has come from in our fanbase.

Clearly Moshiri has been an absolutely disastrous owner and needs to be cleared out with the rest of them, because he will finish the club if given any more time and influence over decision making.

Yes I was just making a point, I didn't say Moshiri was a great owner either. But you picked out two terrible owners who threw money at it and said does that make them great owners, inferring I was making out Moshiri was. Not nice to be misquoted is it. Here is where we probably differ, I feel Moshiri's biggest mistake was not clearing out the Chair and boardroom and then putting professionals in, they might have been able to reign Moshiri in.

I agree that was his biggest mistake, and I cannot forgive him for it. It’s set the club back years and years and could’ve been the death of us. It’s irresponsible and gross incompetence. I want him gone before he has chance to cause any more damage to the club.

You say this yet you're the one who spends his entire life on an internet forum moaning about/slating individual's far more wealthy & successful than you'll ever hope to be.

Maybe turn the computer off, find employment and learn the ways of business as that way you may come to realise not everything is as simplistic/linear as it appears to be in mikeh72 world.

One of the main reasons I stuck you on egnore was you claimed Mike Ashley was a good football owner which makes your entire opinion on football ownership invalid (imo) as if you think that big galoot with 2 relegations on his CV is an owner we should inspire to have then I dont know what to tell you.

The last I time I click "show egnored content" as I really should know better than to hope that you change your ways for the better and start listening instead of shouting over everyone.
Didn’t you want us relegated anyway? So you probably would have loved Ashley to be our owner, get a day out at Wembley. Also it’s ‘aspire to have’.

Wealth doesn’t equate to success by the way. Or at least it shouldnt for such a spiritual centrist.

The most damage to the club has occurred in the last few short years and Moshiri has been in charge in that time.

It never ceases to amaze me how Moshiri is getting away so lightly in all of this while a board which had very little power gets all the blame.

I have said it before the best decision Moshiri made for himself at Everton was keeping BK at the club.
Where were we in the table when Moshiri arrived?

If it was not for the new stadium which at the moment is the only real spark of hope for the club then Moshiri would have been the worst owner ever.

I can only hope MSP take a substantial stake in the operation of the club because it is hard to see how they could be worse than Moshiri/Usmanov.
This!!

So many people defend Moshiri cause he put 500 mill in or built the stadium. Thing is he blew the 500 million and the stadium is in his interests. Completely incompetent, but it's OK cause he put the money in! Joke

Mike I want them both gone, they've failed miserably we need a new Broome a new owner, Chairman and board.

I don't understand this desperation to blame Bill, this black and white view that its either one or the other! And somehow people think that cause Moshiri has spunked hundreds of millions its OK, because we'll he put it in to be wasted!!

I blame Bill for lots and lots of things over the course of his tenure, I mean he is an utterly horrible individual beyond the fact he has ran us like a local corner shop for 20 years, but above all else I blame Moshiri for allowing him and his cronies to hang around.

So I assumed he immediately resigned as would any self respecting manager. Or was it only said after he was sacked ?……
Don't know anything about what happened, just posted what I read that he had said. I am sure those comments can easily be found if you are interested... I am not.

In general I would say that if every manager resigned after interference from the owner then there would be lots of resignations.

I simply do not buy into the theory that the problems finish with the departure of the current board.

People are letting their dislike for Bill Kenwright cloud the big issue.... the future of Everton.

That is totally unfair to corner shops! It's as if your corner shop started stocking Peloton bikes, out of date champagne, and hired retired celebrities as store managers.

I don’t dislike Bill Kenwright. I’ve always liked him and still do. I have never really given him any grief in the past, although perhaps I should have, but for the club to move forward he has to stand aside. The problems and issues we have today will still be there tomorrow but we need a board that is professional in outlook and just as importantly can begin to reconnect with the fans. This is the first proper change being made to the board, if Moshiri gets it right then fine. If he messes it up then all fingers will point at him…..

Bang on

Lads, they are both awful. They both need to leave. It's just that Kenwright is much easier to get out of the club versus the guy that owns it.

Get Kenwright gone, let new people invest and right the ship. Once the club is heading the right direction they can invest more and take a majority stake and we're done with Moshiri.
