What if MSP want Kenwright to stay on at the club?
I suspect they do, in the short term.

Someone has to be there to hand over and every other candidate has already gone.

I also think confirmation of that was what was intended to be in the "in 48 hours" statement.

Something's thrown a spanner in the works somewhere.

But Kenwright has absolutely no future at Everton in the medium or long term.

The senior management team outside of the board can ensure a smooth transition.
An interim Chairman / board can be appointed if required, and it may come to that, but ideally not.

MSP have no need for Kenwright for any period of time, and surely recognise what a toxic figure he is. They surely cannot want a new era for the club to begin with Kenwright in situ, with all the uncertainty and unease that would bring.

If he was there for a couple of days as a placeholder in the aftermath of MSP formally committing, then I don't think anyone would care ultimately, but every day he's still here causes concern that things are not changing and will not change. People can take no more of his malign influence and hostage-taking.

I hope the delays are from doing what needs to be done to remove Kenwright, whilst work on finalising with MSP and the new board continues in parallel. Then we can have a fresh start of sorts at least.

That's it you hope/ we hope, where is the information from the club ? Just pure nothingness coming out. Our club is a closed shop, people's club my arse. Prentice has perfected Kenwrights law of omerta.
