The Everton Board Thread

I personally don't see any changes at Everton until after 30th of June when the year end accounts are finalised.
I know there was the 48 hour time scale put out there but who actually made this statement?
Also as everyday goes by it looks to me like MSP is just another figment of Chairman Bills imagination like the Fortress Fund they will disappear overnight and we will be left with Bill again who is going nowhere.

Moshiri is the key here. The only thing Moshiri recognises is concerted strength aimed at him. Mass protests: thousands outside FF and Goodison, bombard the media day after day. This feller does not like publicity anymore for obvious reasons.

I'll tell you what doesn't help: 15 people turning up outside the Liver Building post-season to 'force a change'.

The likes of Moshiri look at that and take comfort.

Another terrible PR mistake by a fan group that has a record in daft flash mob stunts.

Oh him...yeah that's been widely reported, didn't know he was mates Bill Jong Un.

I think the list of Merseyside millionaire / billionaire business people who aren't in some way associates of Kenwright is probably quite small.

Doesn't mean he's gonna be an effective Bill mouthpiece. Downing is a serious business man with far more credentials to be a chairman of a multi-million pound business than Kenwright is.

I’m not so sure he does understand ‘business’ as most people taking on a huge capital expenditure project utilise other people’s money ie finance it through banks etc rather than sink their own personal fortune into it.

Right from the moment the initial plans were released and planning permission secured for BMD, Moshiri and to some extent the club, have failed utterly and completely to attract external financing, largely due to the appalling state of the accounts that make investing in Everton a risk for banks.

Now, when he’s desperate for funding to keep the stadium build going, he’s had the club up for sale at a ridiculous price and failed, and had to agree to a circa 25% sellout to MSP in order to raise funds just and solely at this stage to finance the stadium… nothing for team rebuilding !!!
Yeah I get that, but when he was looking at team rebuilding and Stadium build, he had Usmanov as his Bank.
Now he realistically wants out, the most he would get out of the club was going to be through finishing the Stadium with his own cash. So any borrowing/Investment would have diluted that from the start.
Owning such a big percentage of the club and being able to cover the costs of the stadium from his own money would of brought back a a lot more personal funds.
He's just realised he can't do it himself now.

I dunno if he was slating his fellow professionals and teammates/friends to be honest.
I dont think he was slating them. He was just repeating what everyone else thinks, that Everton is a team haphazardly thrown together - bolting on different players bought across multiple managerial regimes.

The point I was making mate is that right from the outset, he should have been getting bank money to fund the project. Did Levy pay for the Spurs stadium, did he fiddlesticks, it was financed.

Moshiri might have had ‘support’ from Usmanov but, I still contend that most sensible businessmen would have sought and acquired external funding rather than using their own.

Agreed. When I saw his statement I thought straight away that he was on about the number of managers/coaches etc
If he was criticising the board he would have been more specific about it surely.

Your gonna have to explain how people protesting doesn't help?
