They may have had Long term incentive plans linked to the stadium coming to fruition or such like.
Well, except Esk specifically called it "loss of office" which is very different and heavily regulated. Since he said he was "very reliably informed" its safe to assume he was deliberate in calling it "loss of office". What you are saying would make much more sense and despite being shady be much less illegal.

Probably got some good banked redundancy terms, PILON or such like.

Club is just full of excuse making losers from top to bottom.

From hot potatoe management in the board room to players coming out with every excuse under the sun.

The club needs to shut up and focus on actions rather than words.
 
Another slap in the face that these grifters managed to walk away with a handsome pay off when they “resigned” - a disgrace to all evertonians.

I’m Certain the lying chairman will also walk away with ridiculous money when he eventually decides to go.

Protests need to begin again in earnest to get him and the owner out of our club.
