The Everton Board Thread

And that is the reason why as a fanbase we'll never be happy and rightfully so.

You have fans calling other fans happy clappers or bad fans whilst we sit in 16th having spent £500 millions.

You had fans calling other fans happy clappers or bad fans whilst we sat in 6th, playing in Europe regularly winning most weekends having spent 50p.

Everton is too big a club to have ambitions of midtable survival every season yet thats all thats on offer as if the sporting competition was made fair the scab 6 would be off to the super league and UEFA, SKY, BT, PL et all lose their golden goose and £££€€€.

Usain Bolt doesn't get a 5 metre head start in a race because of his past achievements so why can Man Utd be allowed to spend hundreds of millions and pay players 300k+ a week without worry but Everton cant long term even if their owner is fronting the money fairly?

Its a complete con and no new owner, chairman or board outside of a gulf state can change that sadly hence why I wont be protesting regardless of my dissapointment at the current position we find ourselves in.
We need to stop blaming everyone else for us not succeeding, especially when Leicester and West Ham have shown they can compete without spending the mass amounts the Scabs have and teams lesser than us have either made finals or won trophies (Swansea, Birmingham, Wigan, Portsmouth etc)

So the guy who releases everything verbatim from the club for £2 a pop has a brother who works in finance at the club , the clubs one big boys club isn’t it

Mate Carlo wasnt staying no matter what and it wasnt the regulation's fault we had wasted vast sums of money prior to hiring the best manager of his era.

We spend similar money to Spurs, prior to this window, players bought, wages paid, its very close and whilst Spurs have "stayed pretty flat" we have fallen like a stone.

But honestly, if you think FFP is the issue, get a group of like-minded people together and protest it.

I will support you, just as I will support these chaps.

You're right he probably wouldn't have stayed but had we been able to go get Koulibaly etc. when he was here we would have had a better chance and if not we might have then had the opportunity to get a Conte or other high level candidate afterwards.

Spending the same as Spurs is not going to be a guarantee of success, they have finished in the European places for the last 13 seasons, 7 of which in the champions league, the starting baselines of our two clubs was totally different. You know that it's far easier to take a decent team and add a few players than try and rebuild a whole new one from scratch.

In terms of "relative success" outside of trophies we've probably been the most successful club outside the scab 6 in the PL era when you take into account 5th-7th place finishes (majority under Wee Davey).

Yet is that competing? Is it success? Kenwright seemed to think it is yet we all laughed at his "good times" quote.

Thats the crux of the issue for me - we as a fanbase do not know what success is anymore and the main reason why it is unachievable.

Since FFP was fully implemented 2011 only 2 clubs outside the scab 6 have won a trophy (Leicester/Wigan) so 2x teams on average in 11 years and since then we've had the 5 sub rule and VAR implemented which also favours the big clubs which likely means that 11 year average will only increase further.

Assuming many of the lids on here are 40-50 age range, what hopes have they got seeing Everton even lift a Carabao Cup on their remaining time on earth never mind a League Title.

Thats why everyone should be angry - our rights as football fans to see fair sporting integrity and a proper competition has been pulled from underneath us in order to satisfy the glory hunting fans of the already established sides.

Even if Thelwell gets recruitment bob on it just means we have a few seasons like we had under Davey it doesn't equate to what LFC, CFC or MCFC are currently enjoying and it never will do.

If we had a chairman who didn't confuse what's best for him with what's best for the club or if we were even slightly commercially astute we could have been in that position. We were one of the instigators of the premier league for a reason. Manchester City were an absolute nothing club back then, Tottenham and Chelsea were also absolute no marks.

It's pointless blaming the system when we've been absolutely managed into irrelevance over 3 decades. The rules are the same for everyone, we fluffed our lines and now we're outside the tent.

Agree completely - but that was then and this is now and no matter what happens outside of a state backed buyout our horse has bolted the stable.

It's completely pointless at this point to chase Kenwright. It's like sentencing someone for a crime after they've already died 10 years ago.

The damage has already been done.

It was a wise man who once said "they've fooled you into thinking finishing 6th is good. It isnt"

We're one of the biggest clubs in England and we've been absolutely hollowed out. It's for our own good that we're not allowed to spend any money. we'd only hose it at some more dross. Think back to 2017 when The manager, the chairman, the DoF and the owner couldn't decide which number 10 they wanted so they all picked one.

People willing to give Farhad Moshiri a second chance if he sweeps the current Boardroom clean must remember that Moshiri has appointed people to the boardroom before. Sarvar Izmailov, who's main qualification was that he is Usmanov's nephew and had to resign due to legal troubles and Sasha Ryazantstev, who again was already connected to Moshiri and didn't seem to do anything whilst he was here as Finance Director and mysteriously left. Marcel Brands may have also been a Moshiri appointment to the Board and he is a clueless fool. So a collection of Russian gangsters and people who already worked for the club, hardly a sign that Moshiri will find the best in class is it?

The uncomfortable truth now is that stadium-aside, Moshiri is an absentee owner. He doesn't change the Board because he doesn't care, he is perfectly happy that fans' frustration is on them and content to allow them to remain in situ whilst he can sit in the background planning his exit strategy. This stadium is being paid for with a credit card, the Richarlison money has likely gone right into the next installment and we'll never see that money go back into the team. We are on the brink of going full circle back to the Kenwright years where players got sold to satisfy creditors. It's unbelievable.

The man is a disaster and he simply has to go.

Hes an absentee owner because he's tax exile. He's resident in Monaco and if he spends more than 90 days a year in the UK he'll have to pay tax.
