Maybe this is true, maybe not. But he's an utter trumpet. Him from The Times and anything from the Torygraph footy writers should be treated with scorn.

Makes perfect sense - stops the scab 6 clubs from constantly pissing their kecks over fixture congestion and gives everyone else a real chance of winning something.
Imagine a cup final contested by real clubs like Everton vs West Ham, Leicester vs Notts Forest instead of the usual Man City vs Chelsea El Plastico.

The League Cup is pretty much devalued anyway these days being completely honest - im just fed up of the scab 6 aided by FFP/VAR having a stranglehold on every piece of silverware and its only going to get worse now the PL have announced a salary cap % of income which puts us and the rest massively behind the elite sides.
If something isn't done soon enough the other 14 clubs fans will over time lose interest with seeing nothing but making up the numbers and take up knitting instead which is bad for business/TV companies.
