The Everton Board Thread

Why? We can buy more into the stadium shares afterwards he blew it and we all know..
He didn't blow it at all, you could say that if we had a chance, it didn't happen and we went backwards, but we didn't, we got healthier, it's only now under Moshiri we are really hurting, but that's on him.

Some folks just won't let go of their train set.

Meanwhile they become a laughing stock to everyone in football bar the Pigs that feed out of his trough.
Earth calling blulouie, he let it go 6 years ago, and guess what, last season we nearly got relegated and this season we have a much bigger relegation threat, but let's turn a blind eye to that.

I wonder what's more important for the club and board?

1. Spending no money in January, selling Pickford, DCL, Holgate and Keane in the summer, no new contracts for Mina, Doucouré and Coleman so bringing our wages down to would-be lowest in the Premier League/highest in the Championship, and moving into Bramley-Moore as a Championship club

Or

2. Spending the £60+ million in January it will take to potentially stay in the league this season, increase our wage expenditure after the hard work done to hugely reduce it in previous windows, but stay in the Premier League.

At this stage I'm not sure which option the board prefers. If the latter, why wasn't the money spent in the summer when it was obvious what was about to happen if it wasn't spent?

The Championship is so difficult to get out of - just ask Villa or Newcastle - are they willing to risk moving into a £600m stadium and and potentially spending 5-10 years getting back into the Premier League?

Can they spend £60 million though or does FFP stop them? They weren’t able to spend that in the summer. It’s obviously what they need to do but can they?

Thing with King's Dock, the game didn't have as much money in it back then as it does now, so it wasn't as easy to find good investors. You only have to look at record player signings in that period, small in comparison to today's fees.
Either way it's hard to say the failure of that held us back, not when you look at were we finished in following seasons and did get into Europe
Also don't forget many teams did move back in those times, and none actually went forward, many went down.
Are you saying that Paul Gregg and Lord Granchester were bad potential investors? If you are, you need to explain why Gregg was good enough for Kenwright to borrow money from to buy the club as I recall. Also the same Paul Gregg was a Board member, with Kenwright''s blessing and owner of a successful promotions company.

Additionally, your final sentence fails to recognise that if that had have happened to EFC, it would be down to BK and the Board who appear to have lacked any kind of business plan/strategy, which is their role, and been demonstrably lacking for the duration of his tenure.
