The Everton Board Thread

I don't think many people see it as a solution. I think some see it more as an inevitability. And, to be honest, I have my doubts for the personal safety of those who sit on the board when we drop, sad as that is to say. Relegation may not get rid of them definitively, but we're not likely to see Chairman Bill back at Goodison if we drop.

That'd be scant consolation.

Overall I believe that we cant encourage ourselves to see the loss of our PL as anything other than a disaster that will pale into insignificance all the damage done by Kenwright and Moshiri.

They may do, and that's fine and normal. It's logical given our position.

But relegation cant be seen as a good outcome to see off the owner and board.
To be honest, Dave, a small bitter part of me will take some solice that some had this coming to them. I mean, those of us who had nothing to do with it and who called out Kenwright for the charlatan he was will suffer anyway from going down. But if we're going to go, it'll be a small crumb of comfort to know his legacy will have been set in stone forever as the Chairman who took us down after 72 years.

Yes, it would be scant, but it would start the healing process because it would banish his cult of personality from Everton forever.

...and that'll last all of a few days...then we face years in the wilderness.

I no longer care, Dave. There is a nihilism in being an Everton supporter now. There is no satisfaction in what we see on the pitch. Only misery. Everton are going down with Chairman Bill at the helm whether we light a few blue flares or not. These guys have driven us off the cliff. As I drop over, I will enjoy seeing them burn.

My point is the timing of it.
Do you not think the timing was because he was being interviewed about the situation at Everton ? The issue with the tickets , according to Stubbs arose because he’d been critical when previously allowed a platform . I’m not here as a cheerleader of stubbs but By his account I see the tickets as a result of his criticism of Kenwright not a catalyst.

The first four words sum up how I am with the club, and football in general. There is no enjoyment at all, just misery.

I fully understand the reason behind the tickets being withheld. My problem is the running of the club didn't seem to bother him before his freebies were stopped.

We’re going around in circles mate , it’s probably my fault for not explaining it properly mind . Stubbs says because he publicly said the club was run badly , because he said we needed change and because he claimed it was a much deeper problem than a managerial issue that the ticket issue arose . As I understand it this happened some time ago however when he was interviewed the other day on five live he utilised the opportunity to mention it .

So it’s not the tickets ban that caused him to raise the issue of the problems in running the club it’s that some time ago he raised the issues of the running of the club that led to his tickets being withheld and he raised that the ban publicly the other day .

God knows how you feel reading that but I’m tired typing it

To be honest mate I don't stalk Alan Stubbs, but I don't recall him ever being critical of the board before. Forgive me if I'm wrong.
