The Everton Board Thread

We can still create a great atmosphere by singing songs that support the club (not the board) and also make it as uncomfortable as possible for the opposition by singing as many derogatory ones about them as we can. Don't need to actively sing about how great individual players are because they rarely warrant any praise during a match. But we don't need to scream abuse at them for 90 mins. But creating a deafening noise during the game can still be a positive for the team even if none of it is actually about them.

….I think there are two different issues here and some confuse them both?

is the Board fit for purpose? Definitely not.
Is the Board/fans relationship untenable? Definitely. The weekend communications were a massive mistake.

Is Lampard fit for purpose? Probably not. I don’t think many fans have been impressed & would be content with the right replacement.
Is Lampard/fans relationship untenable? I’d say no. Lampard is a decent bloke & most fans still like him.

I have no idea how this will evolve.

I think the players are being hung to dry by a championship level manager mate.

The fans kept us up last season not Lampard and they'll need to do the same again this year. Problem is with the toxic atmosphere I can't see that happening.
But but but

Under the fat pig you were looking forward to the championship, as according to you many blues would be because of the chance to see silverware

It'll hit 10k by 11am all being well Ste. Need it to hit 15k by this evening.

Signed, 9300 about now

Come on, Blues. Let's get this over 10,000.

There are a hell of a lot of people around on our forums saying it's all too late anyway and that were down, and also a lot of people saying that the Champisonhip is a great idea.

That petition would be way way beyond 10,000 right now under normal circumstances. But it's running into those headwinds.

It's a pretty insipid response so far from a fanbase that runs into hundreds of thousands.

No matter what the number is you’ll say it isn’t enough.

wrong sir.

I said IF we went down then that would be a small positive in a bad situation.

Show me where I said I wanted us to go down. Oh wait you can't because it didnt happen.

Comprehension - the ability to understand something. You need to go back to school jnr :coffee:

It’s a modern day soap opera but even Bill is going to struggle writing a script for this board which doesn’t result in them leaving.

I think fans have a decision to make - do they want the board gone that badly that they'll accept relegation in trying to do it ?

If so good luck to them as I said last season I worry little about relegation as the PL is utterly corrupt.

But for a lot of fans who wear being a PL side as a badge of honour they need to think long and hard about where their priorities lay imo.

A toxic atmosphere doesn't help the team no matter how much you "get behind them". Fans were singing you're not fit to wear the shirt just last weekend how is that going to help things ?
I don't think getting rid of the board guarantees relegation though. If you mean by voicing their discontent at the board, the anger slips easily towards the players then that is also on the board, as they have recruited badly and are the main cause of the discontent. Getting rid of the board might give the fans a renewed positivity because people are sick of them now, and it seems to have reached a tipping point. They are relentlessly profitting from the loyalty of the fans and this whole 'increased security' nonsense is the kind of thing Autocrats do when clinging to power. They have to go

as far as the petition goes, signed now using all my email accounts for all my Blue Nose family! 6 sigs, even the missus who sort of follows Bolton, (i know what can i say!!)
we need to be advocating this to get way over 15k if possible. More would be much better
Just about 10,000 in the first 24 hours is a good start!

Hopefully the lunch break bump will be enough to cross that milestone.
