The Everton Board Thread

not a single statement from anyone of our fearless leaders, just a weary press conference from a beleaguered manager Moshiri only appointed so he had an excuse not to put any more money into the now incredible chasm between us and our rivals.

Its not ...she studied at Manchester Business School/UMIST, under Professor Cary Cooper. My wife was his secretary at the time. A Professorship is an award which is granted for a high level of excellence in your chosen course. Prof DBB was an excellent earner of her Professorship. She has been head hunted by many top international firms and it will be a sad day when we eventually lose her to one of the top international jobs.
I think it will be a sadder day for the top international firm who hire her, if any will.

Her FRSA can be bought for £100.
Whether is was bought or whatever, how is this seen to be sufficient to become a CEO of a progressive multi million pound business enterprise. Like all businesses, the football industry is a worldwide market where all opportunities are vital to demand and command. Football though is unique in the fact that it has massive appeal and interest throughout every continent. Therefore, the demands of a CEO are even greater as every opportunity, when it appears, will have to be taken because any astute, or successful, company will be there to claim the untold riches.
I do not see that dynamism in any shape or form from anybody with authority within this club.

To be honest with you @AndyC, your statement both shocked me and explained to me as to why this appointment has so underwhelmed.

Should these people leave or retire particularly the chairman, if things don’t improve short term afterwards, he will be made infallible by some and deep down some of you know this. It’s textbook manipulation. The theatrics will be gross.

Some folk really give themselves away at times in their thinking , they will call out any mishaps or screw ups of other clubs then to paper cracks with “on to the next game” “it’s fine. Stop cry arsing” when it comes to us, the pretentiousness, the condescending tone really comes out then towards who will call things out.

There are clubs, majorly successful clubs who wouldn’t of tolerated even half of this monotonous, dreary, stuck in rut rubbish here at Everton. Either people within those clubs or the fan base itself.

People get things wrong, I do in particular and the sad thing is I’d rather praise these people to the hilt for playing a part as custodians in a successful club with a great long term future. What’s been served up tho? Nah no chance. You only have to compare what’s gone on, to how’s smug they are at AGMs. Tells you everything.

Other than her wiki i know nothing of her aside from running "a small charity" and EITC.

Does she have any experience running larger firms or is she the CEO version of Duncan Ferguson-- all theory?

Why would anyone buy one?
No.
In much the same way that Robert Elstone was a convenient, in-house, and cheaper replacement for Keith Wyness... so DBB was another convenient, in-house and probably cheaper replacement for Robert Elstone.
Kenwright was never going to look outside the club to the world of internationally successful business people for a CEO when he could elevate someone who would never challenge his position as Chairman.

And you can back up that first statement can you ?
The day she leaves this club cannot come soon enough for me, as she has achieved absolutely nothing of any note since becoming CEO !!!

I tend to agree. If she had been head hunted by top international firms, she will have gone by now. I could see her moving into politics and being quite good at it, she is a good talker.

However, top firms will look at revenue growth (and in football revenue growth outside of TV money). She will not be able to show any. That will be the end of any such interview.

I think you might find that Hope University awarded her an Honorary Visiting Professorship in Leadership in Sport Serving Humanity.

And I think you will find she graduated from Manchester Metropolitan and then got her doctorate from Liverpool John Moores.
Her doctorate thesis was "21st Century Teacher, Guardian of Pedagogy or Visionary Leader? “

Good Lord! You really couldn't make this up could you.
The one thing it does do, however, is to totally epitomise the very way this club is run.
I hope we get to the magical 40 points sooner rather than later, because if the unthinkable did happen, I wouldn't bet on getting promoted back into the Premier with this mob at the helm with their 'leadership' qualities.

The alternative though is erm 'kopite behaviour' apparently to some ?

100%

Who is held accountable for failure of those words so far? It was an embarrassing thing to say at the time and it's proved embarrassing now as we are no nearer to getting anywhere.

All of them, every single person from top to bottom at Everton Footbaol Club who hold the most important positions are an absolute shambles and just add further embarrassment to the continuous search for a trophy.

26 years ffs with Kenwright pretty much overseeing about 15 of them.

Kenwright has been on the board since 1989 so way more than 15 of the 26 trophyless years.

1999 was when he and his consortium bought the club and he became head honcho so he's been the ever present throughout these barren years.

We've got a bit of a musty smell in an old wardrobe we have, tried everything to get rid of it but it just lingers. I call it the Kenwrong aroma.

Kenwright divided the support, and on many occassions I've said that I believe that will be his legacy.
He has pulled off his biggest theatrical piece in front of enough Evertonians to allow him to carry on milking his ego machine. While he does we will walk slowly backwards into oblivion, we are borderline insignificant now as it is, in footballing terms.
The stadium isn't going to change anything at all other than create an 'asset'.
We are in such a fragile state that a massive protest could finish us off , such is our lack of plan, direction and ultimately, identity.
We're goosed to be honest.
