The Everton Board Thread

NSNOW published an open letter to non executive director Graeme Sharp this morning. The letter makes four main points to him:
  • Accepting the non-executive director role means accepting responsibility. We urge you to fill the leadership vacuum and to personally communicate with fans now and regularly until the Club is on a more stable footing.
  • We ask you to ensure that the board issues an immediate communication to clarify and bring to a close the allegations that have been so damaging to the Fans’ and the Club’s reputations and, in particular, the alleged headlock incident.
  • We also ask that you formally request the majority shareholder to strengthen the board – with a current board of only three executives and yourself, it is difficult to see how we compete.
  • As part of this, we ask that you formally request that additional non-executive directors are appointed alongside you to broaden the board’s expertise and provide independent oversight to the running and management of the club.
He'll have to get his bird to explain the big words to him because if his Autobiography is anything to go by he's absolutely thick as mince.

I’ve been very critical of you in the past but that letter is spot on.

A further point would be why are they one of the highest paid board members in the prem.

I can’t see any justification in that.

The Esk saying MSP no longer interested

I doubt they were ever seriously interested, at least not before the end of the season.
No one is going to buy the club with the very real prospect of relegation looming.
I can imagine they did the initial ground work to see how viable a deal was, knowing full well that any decision on investment wouldn't be decided till June at the earliest.
I'd also question what power a minority investor would actually have. I'd say there are still some very powerful people behind Moshiri.
