The Everton Board Thread

Maybe in a listed company, but the vast majority of private company’s directors are employees.
In the grand scheme of things we’re a <£200m p/a private company. Not especially big.
There’s a lot of talk of company governance like we’re some sort of conglomerate. We aren’t.
It's a fair point re listed and private.

However, if you run the club like a glorified family business, you can't expect great results.

We've been in an incredibly lucrative industry for coming up to 30 years and let hundreds of millions slip away because we're run in an amateur fashion.

Plenty of 'small' clubs have tooled up appropriately on the business side of football and have overtaken us. Our former equals have disappeared over the horizon.

That's down to ineptitude at board level.

There isnt, its desperation to exonerate Moshiri of blame
Kenwright is an inveterate liar, he has absolutely no respect for the club or the fans, if you can stand up for a creature .ike that, I don't understand you. I have some self respect, so I will continue to both mistrust and despise Kenwright for the many times has told lies to me and my fellow blues. I don't support Moshiri either , any billionaire accountant should be capable of readings balance sheet and deducing that the financial situation is dire and that drastic action is required. He hasn't and he didn't,so that's on him, but, don't you dare to try and absolve Kenwright, his lying and chicanery started long before either Kenwright even knew what a Moshiri was.

They are both crooked lying chancers and need to go. The difference between them is only one of them claims to be the greatest living Evertonian.

Doesn't matter what they claim, doesn't matter what rubbish Kenwright said years ago, it's all about the here and now.
Over the last 7 years this club has died and continues to do so, you never know what bad news is coming just around the corner. Today we are years away from getting back to were the club was 7 years ago, that's on Moshiri, everyone else just works under him.

The club has been dying since 1989, around the same time that the virus Kenwright got involved.

Wouldn’t argue with any of that, esp running it like a family business.
We certainly haven’t taken advantage of potential commercial opportunities since the 90’s and the boat has well and truly sailed to catch up via organic growth of EFC as a business now (without prolonged, continuous success).
Its the main reason I object to the manner the current P&S Rules take, they essentially stop wealthy people doing what they want with their money (fwiw - I am whole heartedly behind measures to prevent clubs going bust, but not this current set of rules that are so weighted in favour established clubs, I think it’s anti competition).
Just find the board governance stuff a bit of a false flag because we don’t have an Independant board like BP or BAE systems.

Mate I get the line that moshiri is to blame, I share the thought process but you can't really believe that Kenwright isn't to blame and probably more so, his failure runs deeper. He's a failure of the highest order!
