The Fanbase - it's your fault?

Fans that dare to not clap the team off when we’ve played absolutey crap, have bored them to tears and ruined their weekends are an absolute disgrace.

The same with fans who dare to point out flaws in players games and criticise players despite them being blues and academy graduates.

Purely in good intentioned debate, could you give me your view on my earlier post.

For your ease I've copied it here:

Obvious point: everyone has and can have an opinion.

What I don't like about modern football is the short-sightedness and jealousy of the modern fan, including ours.

Klopp and Pochettino are just two examples of sides built upon an identity and a slower time scale build. An example closer to home? David Moyes.

Already some of you are turning on Silva. 5 games in. New manager, staff, way of playing, players...yet after 4 games an unbeaten start is seen as underwhelming and - as per other threads - 5 / 10 and lower 'scores'.

Most of the time it seems to be built on "well we were ace in the 1980s, why shouldn't we aspire to being better?!". Agreed, but by doing so it's important to avoid stamping your literal / electronic feet of "but i want it NOW".

Not even pasting money at a side guarantees you titles anymore. Look at Utd. Look at what they've spent and they limp along in the shadow of Ferguson's golden era completely based on longevity and long term planning.

No-one was going to walk into our club this summer, not even Pep / Jose / Simeone and turn a team of ours into leathering everyone we've played so far this season. Gomes, Mina, Bernard and Zouma, players we've all said are good buys, have barely even played yet. So some of you are judging Silva on player's we all conceded throughout last season weren't good enough / weren't playing a balanced team.

So yeah, fans are ace and everyone deserves a voice. But contextual debate and perspective is equally important. Something we / all club fans seem to lack at times.

World's worst we are. Season ticket holder should go on strike, the rest that don't go anyway don't watch it on telly. Trouble is my booing section if it ever forms wouldn't have any booers. World's worst we are. There is no answer but to beat our breasts and say we are the worst fans anywhere.

Some fella asked if the boy could stop standing up on Saturday, I told him no of course, he said he was gonna grass me up to a steward after I called him all manner of names.

If your reading this lad, not a chance I dont put you to sleep next time you bad grass.

But this is the problem with the fanbase, telling somebody to stop standing when the ball goes near the GSE goal.

Im actually still fuming.

Sorry mate

If you're a stand out player in a bottom half team or fighting relegation and get a move to Everton you've made it. Sit back and relax.

If you're a bench warmer in a top 6 side and move to Everton, you can just take it easy, maybe give a decent performance once every 6 matches.

If you're a United reject then you don't have to do a thing, the manager will herald you as the second coming and you'll start every match.

Basically any player who moves to Everton seems to have no motivation to excel or push themselves. The majority of our signings just take it easy. They deserve the abuse they get.

Great post. I didn't even want Silva, but I'm sure as hell going to give him more than 5 games to turn around the shitshow of last year.
