The Fanbase - it's your fault?

Purely in good intentioned debate, could you give me your view on my earlier post.

For your ease I've copied it here:
I think it’s a few factors, a lot of it being the internet generation and forum talk.

I also think a lot of it is the same old stuff we’ve seen for years, ie not playing particularly well and not being able to break down the poorer teams at home.

As for the Klopp and Poch comparisons Liverpool fans knew they were getting a world class manager (like it or not he is) and Spurs knew they were getting a very good one. Both teams were already capable of attracting incredibly good players (I do think Spurs would be very different without Kane however). We got a manager who went down with Hull and then was at Watford for less than half a season, people have pre conceptions about him and tying in with my earlier “same old” point, he probably hasn’t given them reason to think anything has actually changed. Not necessarily my view on it, but I can see the reasoning.

Some fella asked if the boy could stop standing up on Saturday, I told him no of course, he said he was gonna grass me up to a steward after I called him all manner of names.

If your reading this lad, not a chance I dont put you to sleep next time you bad grass.

But this is the problem with the fanbase, telling somebody to stop standing when the ball goes near the GSE goal.

Im actually still fuming.

I'm in lower Gwladys street (my lad is a young'un, and wanted to go in there!) in the corner, my lad is always going on about how miserable it is there, loads of whinging when lads stand up, he said he wanted to try and get more to the middle and back this season in the street end where there's actually an atmosphere.

If you're a stand out player in a bottom half team or fighting relegation and get a move to Everton you've made it. Sit back and relax.

If you're a bench warmer in a top 6 side and move to Everton, you can just take it easy, maybe give a decent performance once every 6 matches.

If you're a United reject then you don't have to do a thing, the manager will herald you as the second coming and you'll start every match.

Basically any player who moves to Everton seems to have no motivation to excel or push themselves. The majority of our signings just take it easy. They deserve the abuse they get.
Why did you not join my booing section? You could be the leading booer cos it sounds like you really mean it. On second thoughts it is booing only. Abuse is strictly verboten. Sorry, you might not be eligible.

Can't argue with much / if any of that. Fair play mate.

Oh wow, so you’re calling me and fellow evertonians racist??

I made reference to the sort of vicious rants I witnessed years back at grounds home and away and the attitude (generally) of those who made them and I likened the levels of hatred to some of what I witness today and then put forward a half baked theory (my words). Interesting that you should pick up on that point given that you were seemingly trying to spark a debate, though it's pretty clear a debate is the last thing you're interested in. I'm sure there are racist Evertonians, just like in other walks of life, that does not mean that ergo all Evertonians are racist, just to clear that up for you. You can go back to your debate now.

Isnt normally a problem, a few negative idiots around, I have to bite my tongue, had words with a few people over the years.

This fella said he was a ST holder so no doubt im gonna have fun with him over the season.

Most of the people who sit near me are sound tho, sat next to most of them for the last 20 or seasons, good people.

Bit of a bizarre thing to try and link together: someone having an opinion on a player and that being the downfall of said player to having racists in the crowd. Quite a large discrepancy in the two thought processes

I am surrounded by good people too, sound fans. I hope everyone does not get split up when the new ground arrives. I guess it will be inevitable though.

Any player who can't cope with the Goodison atmosphere and the expectations should be binned. The crowd expect to play well and win. If they think that's too much pressure they should leave and join Southampton or Bournemouth. You dont get a free ride at a club looking to compete.

For what it's worth the crowd were fairly behind he team on Saturday. I'd have liked a bit more hostility towards the referee mind you. But barring the people leaving with 15 minutes left for whatever reason, the crowd was fine.

Stones told the Park End to calm down. The Park End, no one else.
Twice I have had to move seats because of idiots in the Park End, once from one side to the other to get away from a OTT abusive idiot who though racism was funny and the players were scum, another to get away from 3 idiots who spent that much time abusing players I even seen them once not bother to cheer a goal because they didnt like who scored it. It really is the Mos Eisley Cantina of football stands.
Now in the Main Stand surrounded by actual fans, some of them are a bit dull but least they actually support the side unlike the abusive idiots I came across behind the goal
