Is that some kind of joke?
Absolutely not true on all 3 points.

People seem to be banging on about Argentina as if they need to win it for Messi to be considered the best ever or even be compared to Maradona, I disagree to be honest. It’s a one off team game and anything can happen, Otamendi could get sent off in the 2nd minute, that would hardly be Messi’s fault. His legacy is set in stone regardless of what happens in my opinion.
People are children. They love a simple narrative: best player wins best prizes.

Messi is a glorious player, arguably the best there has ever been - and surely the best of his own generation. But the "neediness" of some to crown him makes me queasy. The best player in the world has often lost the World Cup final. From Puskas in 1954, Cruyff in 1974, Rummenigge in 1982, Maradona in 1990, Baggio in 1994, Ronaldo in 1998, Zidane in 2006, to Messi himself in 2014, there is a long tradition of the world's most celebrated player of the day ending up defeated. If Messi does lose today, he joins Rummenigge as a captain to lose two World Cup finals.

Don’t forget Johnny Heitinga in 2010.

Really cba on this one's outcome. Both contenders are whiney bitches. Would have favoured either of the losing semifinalists if they had made the final. Just don't want to see any of these smug barstewards winning. Hope it goes to pens.

Flop these bad-losing-island-grabbing-halfprice-hooligans double quick France.

Pummel em, make it a record, crush them into dust. Do it for humanity...
