They've gone from CL qualifiers under the previous regime to one where they finish 6th and 7th. And now they're losing interest in funding Roma's team with cash signings and are encouraging a moneyball approach.

Who knows, they could be preparing to ditch Roma for Everton...but what if they then ditch Everton for the next opportunity 4 years down the line?

Friedkin brings a similar passion to football as he does to aviation, according to one senior figure in the sport who knows him.
“He’s not doing it for fun and games. He feels every ball that’s kicked. When you’re with him and there’s a Roma match on, he’s got it on his phone,” the person said. “He’s a master of many trades [but] he knows what he doesn’t know. His instincts as to who the right people are in football are improving over time.”


In his short time as Roma’s owner, Friedkin has hired and fired Portuguese manager José Mourinho, reinforced the squad, decreased external debt and outlined plans to build a new stadium. Lina Souloukou, the Greek chief executive of Roma, previously told the Financial Times that the Friedkins “see themselves as custodians of an institution loved by the fans”.

That's all very well and good @Goat but lets hear some concrete plans from them for Everton Football Club. Commitments to good corporate governance (that actually benefits them too), things like that

Basically things Bill Kenwright did not do

Four years at Roma: he's had 3 managers, 4 CEO's, had a stadium plan scrapped and replaced it with a drawing of a new one on the back of a beer mate, and has now got himself into a world of trouble with Roma fans for handing them the new signing policy of loans deals and free signings.

That's the reality.

From now on, Roma want to avoid spending on commissions, focusing instead on price-tags, preferably of young, quality players with lots of potential."
