Totally agree. I want them to size up the operation properly before making any changes, then make some major ones in the summer. All that matters on the pitch this season is staying up. There’s no point wasting money in January if they’re going to change everything in the summer.

They are going to have to act long before the summer if we’re anywhere near the bottom 3 come December.

I suspect the new manager will want funds to spend in January.

that villa and newcastle wasn’t car crashes like us.

They were worse! And neither of them had the benefit of the uplift that is going to be realised from our new stadium.

I honestly don’t know why this Charlie Bucket mentality that you are espousing is so prevalent amongst Evertonians? The desire to maintain an inferiority complex is strong, even when making comparisons to the likes of Newcastle and Villa.

They’re two clear recent examples of how a change in management can bring about drastic change within a short time period. But Villa and Newcastle are both juggernauts, so whilst it was possible for them, it definitely won’t be possible for Everton according to some blues.

Howe and Emery aren't at those clubs without the current owners and the cash available to them. Yes they are limited by PSR, but before the ownership changes, both clubs were limited even further by cash.

And then the changes took place, and things started to… change.

They both went from being ‘car crashes’ to champions league qualifiers within 18 months.
