I don’t think there is any evidence he would do a better job that Dyche. I don’t think he has succeeded anywhere for a long time.
I don't want Mourinho but I can't agree with that.

Even now he is light years ahead of Dyche.

He would undoubtedly do a better job but in 12-18 months he would be off somewhere else , to whoever is prepared to flatter his ego more

Come on Harry , how long ago was that ? 2004 - 20 years ago.

I actually saw Porto at Madrid in the CL that season and they were fantastic, as was Mourinho.

But like Porto he isn't that great any more.
No mate I don’t disagree but it was in response to specific point talking about how much money mourinho had spent compared to dyche to win his points , the poster basically said dyche was unfairly handicapped in his comparison and in his competitors. In that context the mention of the Porto win felt relevant.

I feel like I have to keep saying it I’m not cheerleading for Jose to get the job , I also keep saying I think he’s coming down the mountain not going up . However the idea that he’s worse that managers we’ve had recently , that he’s absolutely finished , that he only ever won because he had the biggest cheque book are to me all incorrect .

I haven’t said it’s signed. I said there’s a place in place for a CF because there is. It’s dependant on the Portuguese lump leaving
Well we won't be signing anybody then as there's no chance that Beto gets a reasonable offer come in for him. Just like we saw in the summer, absolutely zero interest, and rightly so.

It’s a bit different because it ignores the fact that all of the teams Mourinho has managed have a big financial advantage over the teams Dyche has managed. It’s like comparing an F1 driver with an Olympic cyclist. The F1 driver will obviously have a higher average speed but you wouldn’t choose them them to ride a bike over an actual cyclist.
Why would a F1 driver want to ride a bike over a cyclist?

I think Morinho is a better, but, higher maintenance version of Dyche. Much as I don't want Dyche to get another contract, if the choice was giving him another short term contract, or bringing Morinho in, I'm not sure which option I'd prefer.

Let's hope Dyche keeps us out of relegation danger and that the Friedkins come in and use the remainder of Dyche's contract to identify and secure his successor to come in at the end of the season and give him the close season to ease himself into the job.

I think your missing my point. It's horses for courses. Just because Jose is viewed as an elite manager and gets elite jobs that Dyche would never be considered for it doesn't mean he is a better manager in all circumstances at all levels. For example, I don't think Guardiola would do any better with Everton than Dyche has or at least there's no evidence to suggest he would. He's an elite manager that is good with elite players and developing a playing style that suits those types of players. He has never had to develop a style to suit inferior players where things like set pieces and low block defending are much more important.

Would prefer a younger more progressive coach like Nagelsmann (or someone of similar ilk) to take us forward into the new stadium. New stadium, new owners, new CEO, new manager = a fresh start that this club needs from top to bottom.
For me, the advantage of Mourinho is that the chances of us being relegated would reduce. The disadvantage would be the chance of a long-term negative impact.

I'm fed up with the club flip-flopping from one manager to another, with no real identity to the club nor a long-term in terms of how we want to play and whatnot.

While younger and more progressive managers come with risk, I do feel like we need to start to style ourselves into a team that wants to play football and entertain.

It won't happen overnight, which is a worry as our fan base is not known for patience, but it is something we need to start doing if we want to succeed.

The one thing I will say, Dyche is not the man to do that.
