The 'gallant' in defeat attitude - why?

A brilliant hard-fought 3-1 defeat tonight , kenwright will have Nero open on his laptop ready to make those dvds .
" the great reaction " £3.99 for EFC members, digital copy available at £2.99 with discount code "uncle Syrill" used at checkout.

I posted this in the match thread more relevant here, totally agree . We are the only club that celebrate getting beat.

Give it a rest will ya Morshiri is going no where as there’s no one willing to buy the club.

Unless you got a few billion hidden under your bed accept reality
There's our problem right there, he comes in, buys us, kills us, someone wants him out and your saying give it a rest.
If you don't want him out, and are not using every opportunity to say so, you are part of the problem

Agree with most of what you say I wouldn't say it was a performance that slightly improved from Tuesday based on Tuesdays performance it was almost world cup winning because Tuesday was so bad. I also wouldn't say united didn't get out of second gear either. However your point stands that we seem to have accepted defeats like last night as if they are some massive turnaround when they are nothing more than another defeat. For me the only thing that came out of last night was the formation suits the players we've got and he should stick to it, if he doesn't and changes it for Southampton it will show to me that he should go. Simple management for me is play to the skills you have in your team not what you wish were in your team.
Personally I’ve seen quite enough of Lampard for me to say he should have been gone weeks ago, even with the long break due to the World Cup, we’ve come back and seen the same players with the same tactics, although the City and last nights formation seem more likely to gain us points it was amazing the way he changed the formation for the Brighton game and the result because of the change.

Frank was a very good footballer and appears to be a nice fella but doubt he has the nous to be a successful manager.

I agree, I think he's personally given up which is end , regardless of if he's good which he isn't just .

He may well be in a few years of experimenting, but we don't have the luxury of discovering him.

It got drilled into us during the early Moyes years and it stuck. When you have a knife to a gunfight mentality its easy buy into the notion that you can be 'gallant in defeat'. Its nonsense. Oh we worked hard and tried our best but still lost?! As opposed to what exactly? Lose and not even try?! 'Kin hell, its no wonder we're so crap as a club when we're praising professional bloody footballers for doing the bare minimum!

I've been thinking this for a while, a few years in fact, with it evident again post match last night. We are in a shocking run of form and lost again last night albeit with a slightly improved performance and all of a sudden, there's shouts of 'renewed hope', 'superb performance' (one notable fan account on Twitter), 'the lads put a good shift in'. Am I missing something? Granted, the performance was slightly improved from Tuesday but let's be realistic, it was still very poor in a lot of parts and United operated in 2nd gear in the second half especially. This has been a theme which has gone on for years - awful runs of form followed by one decent result (or even performance in a defeat? and that one result seems to make everything okay again. Knocked out the cup then get a half decent result the following week and again, everything rosy again.
It's deflating being a Blue!

It's called realism.

Our squad is absolutely dreadful and Man Utds isn't. Don't think there's anything wrong saying they done their best last night (regardless if their best isn't good enough)

I don't think anyone seriously thinks everything is alright after yesterday's result. There's massive issues going on at Everton but I'll take any crumb of comfort I can at the minute and I seen some positives performances.

There's also the point that some people equate league position with how bad a squad is. If Fulham had a terrible manager and were in 17th we'd be saying how bad their squad is. But we say they've a better squad than us because they're higher in the league. Management is ignored, for some reason.

Do me a favour

We can scream Morshiri out until we’re blue in the face but until someone with the dough expresses an interest then what good does it make.

The whole world knows most fans want him out but that means didly squat until someone other than a Mike Ashley type shows interest.

Those are facts and realities so how am I the problem ?

So basically your saying let's sit back in silence and say and do nothing.
The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing

No

I’m saying the nd assuming reality is we can scream all we want ultimately it comes down to Money.

Morshiri won’t leave until a buyer is found assuming he wants to sell which I hope he does.

The only hope is that the stadium gets built and someone with the resources then comes in with an offer.

He knows his not wanted that’s why he never shows up to Goodison

We need to put pressure on him to find that buyer, if Newcastle fans can put pressure on Ashley with empty seats protests I don't see why we can't, I'm not having it they care more about the club they support then we do.
MOSHIRI OUT
