i like the idea of separate threads for incomings and outgoings tbh.
with FM mode off, i don't think players like stek and niasse should be sold this summer, they can be phased out, but niasse has had a brilliant strike ratio for what will hopefully be our 3rd choice striker next season. I also don't think we'll buy another keeper with no europe, we might wait until next summer to look for that, or an emergency buy if one of them get injured. Our squad before incomings should look like this imo (can't be arsed to list what i consider U23's in the outgoings, there's too many:

Bolasie (i like him, but tbf he's the prime candidate to sell on given the upgrade we can make and the potential sale value), Williams, Jags, Sandro, Besic, Martina (we can hope).
I wouldn't have included bolasie, sandro and besic a few months ago, but our squad is way too bloated. That up there will leave us with 20 players, and hopefully we'll bring in 6, giving us a squad size of 26, which i think is right. A good bunch of youngsters coming through to help us bulk up in future seasons if we get back to europe.

Apparently McCarthy is going to be fit for the start of the season. He is definitely back grass running now. He was talking about it at the regional awards night.

hmm okay, tbh i've always said he should be sold. He's a good player, but he's not good enough to be a genuine starter for us and i think we could get £15m/£20m for him. With that in mind, there's no point us keeping him as a £15m squad player who doesn't exactly do an awful lot when he does play. He's perfect for about half the prem though, i just think we already have gueye and davies who can do his role and we wouldn't lose anything.
Palace would be a great move for him, swap him and a bit of money for milijoivic if ship off one of schneiderlin or besic imo. Obviously they'd never want to sell him, just think he has a touch of class about him.

Maybe we could ask the feller from Garston market who used to flog off the cheap meat years ago, to host a sale.
"Not gonna ask you for 10mil for Bolasie, not 9 or even 8.......who wants to give me 6. Sorry Roy what was that about Zaha?".
I reckon we could shift a few like that, maybe even do a bargain bundle.

Can you name a couple of clubs who would stump up £15-20mil for a player whose been involved in 19 games over the past 2 seasons due to different injuries?
I'd be fine with £5mil and a loss. At least his wages wouldnt be wasted.

Our squad was good enough to get 8th despite having a shocking season and having key players injured for large periods. Coleman for example adds so much to our attack and it’s no coincidence our form picked up when he returned from injury. We also played near enough half a season without an out and out striker.
Mirallas, Williams, Besic and Sandro can go straight away with no negative impact at all. Rooney also looks to be on his way.
I won’t be too upset if Keane and Funes-Mori stay. See how they get on under a new manager.
In midfield McCarthy can do a good job if he can stay fit and Schneiderlen picked up towards the end of the season. Rooney looks to be going but his wages are too high and he wasn’t doing much as a central midfielder anyway. Niasse is a definite to stay.
Further forward Walcott, Tosun, Sig, Lookman and Dowell look like decent options. I’d even be inclined to give Bolasie a go - he came back from a shocking injury into a team devoid of confidence. Let’s see how he goes next season.
