Andre Nickatina is a favorite of mine, representing the bay area and all that. Of course, Nas, Wu Tang, Tribe Called Quest and 2Pac all deserve a mention. Never did care much for Jay Z though, he's a decent enough producer but I don't like him as a rapper at all.

Well I'm fairly certain if he did have any "respect" as you put it, then he wouldn't be getting up to those sordid antics beyond the pearly gates where one assumes recreational drug use and promiscuity are frowned upon at the very least.

Got an E-40 album but never really got into it. As sad as it may seem "I got 5 on it" is a classic in my opinion. Raw, true, and the UK single release had like 6 cuts on the CD. All remixes and reworks. Epic.

Not sad at all, I think anyone who disagrees that "I Got 5 on it" is a classic doesn't know what they're talking about. excellent song, and makes me all the more happy to be in the bay area where it came from the remix with e-40 and richie rich is pretty good too, but the original is definitely quite a solid anthem in my book. Yukmouth went on to make some more decent things on his own as well, but that song is just timeless. epic for sure
