Had a bit of hypertension a few years ago, fat and salt had to be sacrificed at the altar of pretending to do what the doc's said. In retrospect, not missed it all that much.

Well I can't crack a joke to that can I.
Well, I went the doc's and had a try on that automated height weight and BP monitor bandit machine, give your ticket into the desk. Pished off home after the mither of the doc and the phone was ringing red hot, "You've got to get back here right now!" It was a few years ago iirc was about 170/90 so just a touch high, and they wanted to know if I was on the cusp of a heart attack or their machine was on the blink. The machine was fine. I was eventually told I had BP so high it could be used to put satellites into low earth orbit. Straight onto top whack medication and threatened to lose some weight. It's been a long flavourless journey, and mostly cheese free. BP under control now. and about 10 kgs lighter than I was. Still another 10 to go, (sigh!) plus undoing the debauchery of this Christmas.

Happy holidays everyone!

Good luck with it, mate. Sounds like you're doing well with it, so keep it up!

Good on you for lowering the BP...that's defo a major source of severe health issues. Holidays are always tough.

Lost 19 kilos this year, all its taken is 12 hideous months of hard running and exercise and fighting the urge to not eat like a pig (the hard bit). Next year I'll actually try to get reasonably fit.

The doc tells me insufferable from low blood pressure - but that's good isn't it?
Wow, more power to you, that is amazing. 19kg x 2.2lb= 41.8lbs/52weeks=0.8lb every single week average. Nearly superhuman. ;)

Body 4 Life fitness programme. 6 days of horrible train to fail intensity based training every week, plus disciplined eating. You are obly meant to do it for 3 months, but ive done it a whole year. Its horrible to be honest, but it works. When you have the weight to lose it comes of easy though.

~42 lbs in 52 weeks including aberrations. 'train-to-fail' is that like run till your sick kinda stuff? It's the discipline side of eating I find toughest, that and the lager. Reckon it's possible to live on raw carrots for the entire month of January? Save on the leccy bill I spose...

Thats the ticket. Short highly intensive workouts, both cardio and weights, where you max out at the end. The habit of going every day is the easy part, harder to thrash yourself to bits. But the weight falls off, especially at the beginning.

The difficult bit is eating reasonably. I’m a pig and can’t stop eating like a horse throughout the day, since I was a kid. I can’t get in the habit of eating several reasonable meals throughout the day.

No way I could live on carrots.
