Modern classic Fords are affordable and the parts are cheap.

Got a good mate who restores them for a living.

He’s got a warehouse full of his own cars too, which are investments for the future :

Cossys x 3
Loads of RS Escorts
3.0 ghia Granadas
Loads of Capris
Loads of Mk 1 Mini Coopers
Audi Quatros
And bizarrely, Volvo T5’s which he reckons are a future class
I'd simply love a MK3 Cortina 2000GT 2 door early twin headlight model. Shoudn't cost the earth like other Fords of the same era but like bloody hens teeth to find. I'd love to know if your mate has one of these, or even what he thinks of them.

Over 20 years for some classic insurers mate now, some state 25 years. A lot of the classic meets also have started to stipulate 20 years too to cut down on the more modern tintops rocking up and to leave space for real classics. Unfair on some as some cars are born as a classic.
Any classic show I go to ALWAYs has some utter gimp park his 5 year old BMW in the middle and start polishing. They just don't get it.

He does have a Cortina in amongst them all.

I may see him tomorrow and if I do I`ll ask him.

He`s currently working on a MK1 Capri and a Lotus Talbot - which looks great, but I wouldn`t touch one with a barge pole !!

That'll sell easily enough although prices on all classics are a bit stagnant at the moments. Is that the opelescent blue car?
Yes. It's currently "in the way" in my elderly neighbour's garage. I think he's trying to shock the family that he bought it.
