The Moyes Era

I don't think he's got the ruthless streak what all really good managers have. Look at how Cahill is still playing and tell me what would have happened at almost all decent sides?

Yep, that's where we differ, mate. I think he's got most of the attributes of a good manager, but in the last two years hasn't been helped by ever tightening purse strings and want-away players. I think January, the second half of this season and, possibly, according to whispers, the summer could give us reason to be more optimistic next year. Jelavic looks like similar quality to the Yak in 07/08. Could be the most important buy in years.

But of course, the usual summer capitulation that I believe Edge(?) spelt out so well in another thread is just as likely to happen. FFS Kenwrong.

HAHAHAHAHA. Truly blinkered stuff there mate. Krul is 10x the keeper nervo is. Ba is at least as good as Jela if not better. Tiote would walk into most midfields and Cabaye and Gutierrez is a class winger at lkeast as effective as Pienaar.

BTW, I'm not down on our players. I reckon we've got the makings of a boss side. Moyes is holding some of our players back.

I'd have Cabaye over Gibson but to suggest Gutierrez is as good as Pienaar is proper mental.

Bit slow there. [Poor language removed] Internet.

Oh and Jelavic is an absolutely boss player.

Jelavic > Ba/Cisse

You lost me at Gutierrez (sp) being a good player.

Doesn't look as good as Pienaar granted. He does go past people and create chances tho.

My one critcism of Pienaar is that he doesn't create enough clear chances himself I.e. a through ball or a cross. He often plays a part in the build up but it's rarely him who plays the final ball.

Maybe. But at this point I'd go for Cisse who has outscored him and Ba who looks a machine and will attract big bids.

I think if he gets another 10 we'll all still be saying "if he just let them off the leash now and again". I don't think he's a bad guy and he is safe. But Saturday proved to me we'll never win anything with him. Fear grips him when it matters and he and we go into our shells. He was desparate to paint us as the underdogs because mentally it's the only position he can be in.

Can you name me a game that really mattered where he's done us proud?

This, although some Moyes lovers
will insist we'll be relegated if he leaves and he is Jesus re-incarnated.

Im a moyes lover and proud!

Its not that without moyes we would deffinately be relagated its No other manager would have done more with whats been available.

Some other managers would of done the same or simlar to moyes but some could get us relagated!

For any faults moyes has, in terms of league finishes ect hes done excellent. Im fully confident he gets the most out of some average players and were in safe hands of not being relagated.

10 yrs ago if any fan had been offered europe wembley trips and constant top 8 finishes, hands would of been snapped off!

Its nitt picking when ****ging moyes faults imo. End of season results are what matters. Hes not won anything yet which some like to pick up on but... In reality has our investment given us any right to have won anything? I dont think so!

Everyone's entitled to there opinion but i think thats complete rubbish. We dont have the players in the final third to let them off the leash as you put it.

The semi was a perfect example. Do you really believe moyes told them not to attack? Keep the ball? Not to shoot? Just to defend? Come on... The playerd were not up to the job whatever you think of the quality of the liverpool team.

LW RW and ACM of osman guaye and cahill. Its poor! There not good enough to be winning semi finals. Thats were u win games and change games.

If moyes had nasri silva and rooney playing them posistions we would be a completely different side.

I'd agree with that until you see some of the sides that have won honours and reached domestic and european finals. Cardiff have played in more cup finals than us over the course of Moyes reign!!!

We would be a completely different side with those three if Gary Megson was the manager. Your point is Moyes would win something if he just had all the worlds very best players. Your outlook on the game is a strange one.

If your OK to highlight his strengths but I'm nit-picking highlighting his weaknesses!!!

It will be a very short debate don't you think.

Done [Poor language removed] all in 10 years.

The fact that our history timeline outside Goodison stops at an ex-player scoring a quick goal years ago is embarrassing.
