The Moyes Era

What players have we sold that Moyes dint want to or asked to leave?

The difference is Ronaldo went for what, £80m ? We got £9m after Sociedad tax for Arteta, and where did the money go ?

Obviously I reckon we're better on paper than Newcastle, although they've bought well, hell they've done a bit of a Moyesy on us to be fair.

Pound for pound I agree, I guess a lot of people want more. Being realistic is hard for a fan though, especially with a motto like ours emblazoned on our shirt.

I do think he's done pretty much as much as he can for us, and we'll continue to be what we are now with him. Without him it's crystal ball stuff, we could go up or down, that's the gamble for me.

We're nowhere near as good as Newcastle mate. Two goal machines up front. A boss keeper. A midfield full of creativity and a world class player to change things(HBA). THEY ARE WHERE THEY BELONG

I'd take at least 5 of their players into our team no question.

Tiote
Krul
Cisse
Ba
Ben Arfa

I think we're very harsh on our own players sometimes. I'd also say we have a goal machine up front (only 1, different formation), a boss keeper, one of the best defensive midfielders in the world and one of the best left backs in the world to change things. Not to mention our backline as a whole is far better and world class. They're a bit better balanced then us right now, a couple of different outlets of creativity too.

Just opinions like :)

I think we would definately be in relegation trouble if he left and was replaced by a mediocre manager.

I think we should all agree here that the problem is Bill Kenwrong. This will bring all Evertonians together.

All this.

The only marked difference I have with some people is I still believe Moyes can take us on to better things whereas some think he has hit a ceiling and we need someone new. I hope for his sake he sees the day (if it ever comes) of a takeover and he can have a crack at a good transfer budget. Be a bit sad if he didn't imo after all he's done. If he was to fail, then thanks, but time to go.

I should say I don't think it's nailed on relegation if Moyes leaves or anything, I just think we're on a tightrope and it'd be so easy to fall down the league, lose our top players and undo 10 years of hard work and building.

United sell players because they can, Everton sell players because if they didn't they would go bust.

As long as Man United remain in the Champions league year on year (something is almost a certainty regardless of manager because of their financial backing) then their debt will be paid off sooner rather than later. When that happens they will have almost total security.

United's debt is down to just over £300m net, far less than the £1.1bn it once was.

Its not you know, its over 400 mill, 60 mill to service it annually - to put that in context that 70% of their Ronaldo fee - they needed to sell Ronaldo as their debt was out of control at the time before they issued bonds. and your wrong they had to go cap in hand for 500 mill of last year and issue bond secured untill 2017 at a ridiculous rate of interest because they couldnt afford their debt. All secured against Old Trafford, while interestingly they are selling their training ground and leasing it back.

They will be annonced as the most baluable club in the world today and they are, because they make money, its how that money is used limits them - black hole stuff.

I don't think he's got the ruthless streak what all really good managers have. Look at how Cahill is still playing and tell me what would have happened at almost all decent sides?

On a 13 mill loan mate that fell due - bad news is, the second half of that is due the summer after this - thats a goodbye to Baines or a Rodwell. Actually the plan was for Arteta to stay he wanted to go mate, needless to say he didnt come up against huge resistance - but the lad asked to leave tbf.

Not just Arteta either but another five players in the squad went for fees as well.

Howard
Simpson Heitinga Distin Baines
Ben Arfa Gibson Fellaini Pienaar
Jelavic Cisse

Yeap, looks decent, and if Moyes had the money what's the odds on us having a few of those players, I know from rumours we were keen on a couple.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU KENWRONG!

HAHAHAHAHA. Truly blinkered stuff there mate. Krul is 10x the keeper nervo is. Ba is at least as good as Jela if not better. Tiote would walk into most midfields and Cabaye and Gutierrez is a class winger at lkeast as effective as Pienaar.

BTW, I'm not down on our players. I reckon we've got the makings of a boss side. Moyes is holding some of our players back.

I would hardly say Krul is ten times better.

We don't know how good Jelavic is, and i'm hardly going to swap him out for two Newcastle strikers when he's scoring at a ratio higher than 1 in 2 am i ?

Tiote is a defensive midfielder, i'd hardly have him and Fellaini in the middle, Gibson is a more balanced option.

Gutierrez and Cabaye are good, but Pienaar is class for us and i don't personally think Gutierrez is all that.

But the most important thing ? It's a fantasy team, doesn't have to be the 100% strongest team possible pal.

Agreed.

Except on Pienaar like.
