The Moyes Era

Personally I think Moyes isnt the type of manager who will just up and leave in the middle of a contract if he has nothing better in the pipeline, The only real option for him better then us is spurs and if they come after him in the summer he will walk, But I think if they dont come after him he will stay here and fulfil the 1 year he has left remaining.

The difference between now and 4 years ago when he signed a new contract was we had a potential new stadium on the way and new owners probably would of been soon after, but it never happened, If you remember Moyes took a long time thinking about that contract back in 2008 even though it had been on the table for months.
He also has the problem now of the players he has had for many years are starting to age and will need replacing within 2 years.

I'd love him to stay as it means we wont get relegated, but at the same time from moyes point of view he needs to prove he can win things and he probably wont get the chance to do that here

To be fair mate, Cahill and Bent were in the bag before Rooney went.

Hindsight is great thing and a testament to Moyes in finding players, if i remember correctly Cahill and Arteta were nobodys really - certainly not the players of the stature they are now or compariable to Rooney and Graveson who went to Real at the time. Arteta didnt even get a regular game in his first few months and took a good year to settle. Truth is went a whole season after Rooney went or at least six months without any reinforcements (Beattie sent of first game/Arteta was gash), while we lost our best player in the same Jan to Real. The following summer everyone was creaming themselves over Beattie and AVDM tbh, who knew the lessor known cheaper players would be gems - fair play to Davey like.

Tbf that is true, but Cahill was hardly unknown, he'd just had that big run with Millwall in the cup scoring agianst Man U and like Steken said we were lucky that Palace passed on him. As for Arteta's performances/playing time when he came in, I really don't remember tbh!

...He has weaknesses that balance out his strength in that area. It's also the pull of playing for Everton that got us them players and the wages we pay. It's rare that we are the only club in for a player. I.e. Cahill would be at Palace only their chairman doesn't pay agents...

Its pointless comparing Everton to teams like United or Wigan.

Im not sure who you could compare Everton to really.

Theres not many Clubs around our League postion who has the same net spend.

You can ignore the 1 Season wonders such as Newcastle, cos next Season they will be where they belong.

Pound for Pound, there isnt a Manager in the League that compares to David Moyes, thats something the Anti-Moyes gang forgets.

Look at the teams above us, then ask yourself should we be ahead of them.

/shrug

Considering the second half of the season we've had (apu) I would say we should be pushing the three teams above us...

I think we would definately be in relegation trouble if he left and was replaced by a mediocre manager.

The problem we have is, I don't believe we are able to attract a better manager, because of the [Poor language removed] running the club.

I could manage our team and we wouldn't be in relegation trouble... and we attracted Moyes when we were in a worse state. Why wouldn't we be able to attract someone as good now?

Everyone's entitled to there opinion but i think thats complete rubbish. We dont have the players in the final third to let them off the leash as you put it.

The semi was a perfect example. Do you really believe moyes told them not to attack? Keep the ball? Not to shoot? Just to defend? Come on... The playerd were not up to the job whatever you think of the quality of the liverpool team.

LW RW and ACM of osman guaye and cahill. Its poor! There not good enough to be winning semi finals. Thats were u win games and change games.

If moyes had nasri silva and rooney playing them posistions we would be a completely different side.

They were good enough in the first half... what do you think changed at half time? You think all 11 players of their own accord decided to play that way? Either it's Moyes effect on them, or he's bought and selects a load of cowards who he has no control over... Personally I don't fancy either option...

We did the same thing in 2009 twice with a similar but different starting line up. I'm going for the Moyes option.

I have to laugh when people say we'd be relegated without Moyes.

Baines, Heitinga, Jags, Fellaini, Gibson, Osman, Pienaar, Jelavic, Barkley.

We've hardly got a sh*t squad have we? There's plenty of teams in the league who'd get relegated before us. We're sitting in 7th and our season only started 4 months ago.

I reckon the jounalists should of walked out when he said how you can't go to Old Trafford and try to hang on for a draw and how that doesn't work.

So you have to go there to try to win.

They should of walked out laughing at him.

Also like how he's snuck in an excuse for not including Barkley.

'Well as you said about trying to win at Old Trafford, you need to make sure you make use of the senior players'

Barkley in April eh Davey ?

Well they have served us well at Old Trafford over the years...............................

Who was the journo?

No idea, it was funny how the rest of the questions were asked by that lad who does the football show on Radio City, who bum licks Sharpie every week, then as soon as somebody steps in with a difficult question Moyes just f**ks him off.

He should have just said 'we haven't got a further comment to make, any official news will come from the club' or something, instead he just walked off like a tit.
