The Moyes Era

Value for money. Hmmm

£170m divided by 20 = £8.5m a season.

Remind me how many trophies they have won for that.

Then go and tell me why they are a behemoth who are the only big spending club who actually generate what they spend themselves?

Then tell me why they have almost doubled their capacity?

Then come and talk to me about Value for Money.

Most managers have to sell to buy. Moyes is good at it. So what? When has it really paid off for us? Once with a player who was destined to be a great regardless of who managed him.

United have spent £483m since the inception of the PL, Everton have spent £218m. That's the difference.

Tim Cahill
Arteta
Fellaini
Heitinga
Baines
Johnson
McFadden
Jagielka

All players who were bought for way less than what they are now worth or were sold for, and that's just off the top of my head. I don't think there's any question that Moyes' transfer dealings have kept the club in the top 8, what i and others dispute is whether he is the only one who could have done so.

I'm aware of that but transfers alone don't make a manager or a top 8 side. Philosophy and getting players to play to thier best is also an important factor.

He has weaknesses that balance out his strength in that area. It's also the pull of playing for Everton that got us them players and the wages we pay. It's rare that we are the only club in for a player. I.e. Cahill would be at Palace only their chairman doesn't pay agents.

We have spent 26m to go from our regular spot of 16th to an regular spot of 7-8th. It's up to you to decide whether you consider that value for money? Because what you have won and what it cost is the only measure that matters.

I think he real question is, how much longer do we want Moyes in charge? I wouldn't mind maybe 2-4 years more. But if its more of the same crap. Get your ****e together Everton.

*Look the other way.

Then come tell me why they have the biggest debt it the league.

Because of a leveraged buyout. Pure and simple. Nothing to do with football and everything to do with dodgy(yet entirely legal) business practice.

A debt they can comfortably service and are about half way through paying off.

Are you saying you'd rather be in our position than theirs?

1) No actual fear of relegation

2)Europa League is always an objective (fair enough, these last 2 season we've missed it)

3) In Moyes, We trust.

1) Why do you think a group of players this good would be relegated

2) We will probably miss it again. You can get in by winning a cup tho, perhaps Moyes will do that? Or we could qualify via the spot a flying pig league

3) Very few left in the IMWT brigade now.

What could he do in the next 2-4 years he hasn't done in the last 10?

Blown up all his bridges with what happened this season for many. If he went now it'd be for the best. He wont get another chance to get silverware whilst he's here (cup draws like we had this season come along every Preston Guild). It's going to get messy and it's going to get nasty. I think that shold be avoided at all costs for everyone involved. If he gets an offer he should take it.

Its relative - but ours is prob better fiscally in terms of amounts. The difference is margins really, they have capacity through the stock market and bond issue to write down debt, not that we dont we just wont and infrastructure to make a profit - we dont. It could very easyily go belly up a year or two outside the CL circa if when Ferguson retires.
