The 'Moyes mind virus' is a debilitating affliction that insidiously creeps into the psyche, gradually lowering expectations and eroding the drive towards excellence. It manifests as an overwhelming sense of complacency, where ambition is quietly smothered under the weight of mediocrity. Those affected by this mental malaise find themselves inexplicably content with the status quo, expressing gratitude for average outcomes and diminishing their aspirations for greatness. In its grip, individuals often lose sight of their goals and dreams, settling instead for the comfort of the ordinary. This virus, both insidious and pervasive, poses a significant threat to the pursuit of growth and success for Everton FC
Those years we regularly finished top 5 under Dyche, Lampard, Koeman, Ancelotti, Silva etc were great years. I remember them well.

Oh, wait - that was Moyes, wasn't it?

Quantum leap

It's like going back 20 years and realise nothing has changed. Nothing has been won, and we are stuck in a battle when back then a young manager took over, that man is 20 years older now.

Mediocrity is exactly what we need for the next couple of years, after the absolute rubbish we've seen the last 3 seasons. We can't appoint a top level manager until we show we are under no relegation, and have competent leadership off the field. We need a season or two or gradual improvement to mid table irrelevance, before we can actually kick on and become a good team.

That's not a lack of ambition in my opinion, just the reality. We need a manager first who can avoid relegation battles, rather than a Dyche type manager who is there to fight relegation battles. This is step one on what needs to be a total overhaul of the squad and the whole club. But you can't do all that in January and you certainly can't do it if you get relegated.

David Moyes is 10% more optimistic Dyche, I mean really is that the best we can come up with.

The joy of getting rid of Dyche lasted 5 mins before this club dampen your hope with Moyes being a target! Pffftt
