The Music of GOT

Also, did you ever try beta blockers to stop the stage fright? Always used to take them before presentations to stop the nerves kicking in.

I believe they're great, but I literally wouldn't take a panadol for a headache, I have a real "that's how they get ya" approach to drugs lol

Tbh, I only really like the creative side of it, writing things. I don't even like most live music and never have

Can anyone recommend me a decent drum machine ~£300? Preferably much less but appreciate drum machines go from complete rubbish to very good without any in between.

Bonus points for bluetooth with no USB connector.
More of a digital than hardware musician myself, but I've heard good thing's about the 'Korg Volta' series. There's a drum machine in there that's about £110, but I think it's more of a drum synth with a built in sequencer than a drum sampling machine. The sampler version is about £130 I think.

No idea on the bluetooth thing though. Korg are usually reliable hardware wise though!

Oh, and the 'Volca Beats' synth drum machine:

I'm much more prone to share music of my students than myself. I taught this young man some sax and some theory (I was his HS band director) back when Sheedy was slotting goals and Everton were where they belong in the table. Since then, he's been working in church music and teaching music to kids in Georgia while I was working on building the tools the mortgage industry used to bring the economy down back in 2008.

Here he is with his present batch of students performing at an assembly this year for for Black History Month. When you can cover Stevie, you get respect.

Here's an old drinking song called "To Anacreon In Heaven" from a crew I was recruited into to provide motivation for all those young bandgeeks stuck at home who can't play together now. We're not as tight on a click track as the French national orchestra, but you can hear the tune and we finish more or less together. This was put together by the assistant director of the HS band I used to teach in a previous century. High marks to Edwin.

Not bad for a bunch of folks sightreading parts from their practice rooms at home - we span ages from 16 or so to... me. I'm the old guy hiding behind the clarinet/bass clarinet.

Here's my Pioneer DJ mixing deck.
Best thing I ever bought - seriously.
If the Mrs gets on my case I just don the earphones, ramp things up
and the world is all good again :-)

I've started demoing stuff for the other guys to work on for when we get to recording.

It's very rough and ready (a lot of fluffed notes and things not quite in time, but that's why they're demos) but I'll try and post up the stuff I'm sending them as I finish it if anybody is interested

Good news for me at least. The Distractors debut album will be released by the end of the year on TrashWax Records (https://www.trashwax.com/)

They don't normally do our type of thing but the owner loves us. So it will be available on vinyl from them, from our shows as well as on all your favourite digital services.

We just need to be able to be in the same room to record it now...

Our drummer did his thing on the first of my rough demos. The leads will all get sharpened up (or changed completely) by our other guitar player. But here it is! The first demo for the record we'll start work on in May!

Edit: This was recorded in my little bedroom studio, it's still pretty rough and loose and (obviously) doesn't have the sound I want. But it's mainly for the other guys to work on so we're not completely cold working on 11 new songs!
