Aye. They may have changed now but they never assigned individuals to a case. So you end up having to explain the whole situation again and again every single time and you have no direct point of contact to resolve. Extremely inflexible as well. Must be a nightmare to work for.

Nightmare they thought I had two company cars on the go at one time for a 12 month period and tried to claim I owed tax for that period.

3 years on the row they tried the same thing. Kept appealing and send them copies of the previous years correspondence. No apology or letter to say I was right , just a tax code letter with it going back to normal.

Saying I’ve missed a self assessment tax return. I’m not self employed so don’t know why I need to do one. Standard HMRC not open on a Friday afternoon so will need to call them on Monday. Hopefully it’s a mistake.

Mad thing is I didn’t make a penny off the rent each month as the mortgage was higher than the rent so I wouldn’t of had to pay any tax anyway I think. Proper fooked it
