While out running this morning I listened to a podcast where Graham Potter was being interviewed. He was very honest about his time at Chelsea , articulated his views and philosophy very well and sounded refreshed and ready to get back into management. Over the years, I’ve heard both Lampard and Dyche being interviewed in their pre Everton days on this podcast, both , like Potter, came over very well but of the three Potter came over best, he particularly had a real understanding of how owners operate and the role of the manager. I hope Dyche lasts the season as it means we’re free from relegation, if we are going to replace him Potter if available is the man for me.

Yeah, because Arsenal and Everton and their respective positions in the league at the time are comparable.

I think we are better than Dyche has us looking but we are still a club that could be in danger of relegation with a bad run. Arsenal were never that.
If Dyche, Lampard or Benitez cant relegate us. No one can

I presumed he had a lot of say at BHA. Thats just an assumption tho.
What is his actual roll there?
Who picked out their current manager?
David Weir turned down an offer to become our Loans Manager under Benitez around about December 21 when he was Loan Manager or similar at Brighton. At the time Newcastle were in talks with Dan Ashworth Brighton’s Technical Director to become their Sporting Director , he’s now at Man U as their Sporting Director . Anyway , I imagine that Weir was told if he stayed at Brighton he’d get the Technical Director role “ when” Ashworth left , which he did. Tony Bloom owner/ Chairman ultimately picks the manager along with their CEO Paul Barber , Weir would have had little say in it.

Ah, right, gotcha. I just kinda assumed that, as Technical Director, he had a pretty big say in transfers and appointments. Shame really.

I think my top 3 would be Christope Galtier, Roberto Mancini, Sebastian Hoeness.
I reckon these are the highest quality managers we might have a chance of getting with TFG backing.
I like Hoeness a lot, but I think that would need assurances from TFG to make us competitive.

We're stuck in a bind with the situation we are in now if they decide to twist.

I don't think that means we couldn't make a good appointment in the here and now but it does narrow down the field quite considerably in mid season.
