IF.....this is true!

It's a Thelwell pick and he's had the green light from TFG.

Suppose we all need to wait and see.
I would be happy with Carsley to be honest, young passionate manager who plays good football and also happens to be ex Everton. Would galvanise the fans.

Hoping we’d see Tommy G somehow in the dugout too - imagine.

He should be jumping at the opportunity to be interim and prove himself. His ego making it drag on unnecessarily there.

Anyway, I hope that it's not Carsley. He's just a flavour of the month pick. Let’s be honest—most people want him here because he used to wear blue not because of his tactics. What we need is someone with experience fixing bad form and getting a squad to overachieve, not another sentimental nod to the past.

Am in 2 minds about it.

One thing I do know is we need a change and we need it pretty quickly.
Oh I don’t mean Carsley himself (although I’m not overly sure about that either) more just the club not being able to decide whether they want an interim or a long term manager, potentially playing an extra 3 games with a manager they already know they’re sacking because they can’t get their ducks in a row, there being enough of a leak for the current manager and players to know about it and potentially affect performances etc. They’re the things that make it believable.

I’d be happy enough with Carsley but that doesn’t ring true to me however much of a car crash the club is, who knows though .

I expect nothing less from the current management it's why they usually sack a manager and then spend the next four weeks deciding who they want

Lots of Carsley talk. Would love that personally, we’d need 3/4 players in January either way so why not at least put a blue in there who’s highly regarded.
It’s the romantic choice, but is very odd for me. Might be highly regarded at St George’s Park, but that’s almost irrelevant. Last managed club football in what 2017? Handful of games caretaking Birmingham, then stayed on as assistant. Both he and the manager gone 6 months later.

Can’t see how handling Englands youngsters admittedly very well every couple of months leads to the 24 hours a day job of ensuring we don’t get relegated, then the most important job for decades, overseeing the rebirth of the club next season.

In many ways I love the idea of it, but 😬. Scary. Yes we need to break the cycle, but surely someone with a recent record of successful club management?

What does impress me with him is, when he took over Porto he had no money to spend, recalled his loanees and worked with what he had pretty similar to here, I just feel he would be the right fit here to move us forwards

Jep, this is why someone like Potter doesn't work for Everton. I am sure he can implement a philosophy into a team, but like Klopp, who is another level of manager he needs a few years and windows to transform a team. First we don't have time now looking into the table, 2nd is FGP is not really patient.

As much as I don't like him he brought a success to Liverpool that we can only imagine we need someone like him to do the same for us, but like you say it will need time and patience for it to succeed

Not a bad point at all.

I’d say anyone is a risk right now, the squad is terrible and whoever we get they’re gonna need 3/4 newbies.

I really hope there’s some joined up thinking between recruitment of manager and future players, we can’t afford to make any more errors with player trading.

He is 3 years younger than Dyche so I don't think he be classed as a young manager.

Yeah I’m very unsure of Carsley but I wonder if he would come in til the end of the season, much as their thinking is at Roma, to buy them time to come up with a longer term plan (or retain if he does well).

If any of the rumour is true I can’t see Thelwell fully being given his head to interview for a long term manager, while his own future is up in the air.
