have seen west ham links to terzic so feel we would be looking at similar managers him and potter. Moyes will be if they cant find anyone else. I feel like is alot of talk on potter and with him atleast having talks with leicester ino i think he would have interest to come here.
Think one of these may be at wham by the weekend after tonight.

Terzic was hopeless at Dortmund. The players hated him.

Evertonians love a link to the past. They simply cannot resist choosing from the handful of people with past Everton connections in a whole wide world of coaching possibility.

No wonder we are in decline as a club when we choose so incestuously from such a shallow gene pool.
Ah here,
Smith, Moyes, Martinez, Koeman, Silva, Allardyce, Ancelotti, Benitez, Lampard, Dyche.
Not one of them had a single thing to do with Everton before signing on to be boss.
The last time we won a cup was Royle, a league was Kendall.
Picking managers with Everton connections is hardly the reason we are in decline as a club.

Verbatim the same 🤣.

IF.....this is true!

It's a Thelwell pick and he's had the green light from TFG.

Suppose we all need to wait and see.

Wowzers

Well on the basis that it would be more completely amateurish, almost self sabotaging behaviour from the club, it’s easy to believe that it’s true.

Its outside the box. You have to applaud that if true.

He should be jumping at the opportunity to be interim and prove himself. His ego making it drag on unnecessarily there.

Anyway, I hope that it's not Carsley. He's just a flavour of the month pick. Let’s be honest—most people want him here because he used to wear blue not because of his tactics. What we need is someone with experience fixing bad form and getting a squad to overachieve, not another sentimental nod to the past.

It’s the romantic choice, but is very odd for me. Might be highly regarded at St George’s Park, but that’s almost irrelevant. Last managed club football in what 2017? Handful of games caretaking Birmingham, then stayed on as assistant. Both he and the manager gone 6 months later.

Can’t see how handling Englands youngsters admittedly very well every couple of months leads to the 24 hours a day job of ensuring we don’t get relegated, then the most important job for decades, overseeing the rebirth of the club next season.

In many ways I love the idea of it, but 😬. Scary. Yes we need to break the cycle, but surely someone with a recent record of successful club management?

If he had the same record but in another country then would it make it more exciting?

Mate, just the mere suggestion that its actually been Thelwell speaking directly to Carsley and his agent is a huge step in the right direction for us imo. DoF actually getting to search for the manager for a change.

An actual coach...

All this obviously with Carsley should be taken with a massive grain of salt, but it could be a masterstroke appointment...he could be the one who actually gets a tune out of this lot.

He's worked with Branthwaite and Garner so they will know what he's all about.

Being Evertonians we will naturally approach with an air of scepticism.

Who was the England u21 manager who relegated Leicester?

Players & fans hated him, a "coward" apparently.

Hopefully goes to West Ham and relegates them.

I have been hoping TFG will bin Thelwell along with Dyche. I am far from convinced he can pick the right man for the job.

His recruitment has been poor to say the least, even allowing for financial constraints. Using loan slots for players unavailable through injury seems like an own goal when your squad is stretched thin to start with.

As far as I can see Carsley has never been an appointed manager of a club side, caretaker manager for short periods in lower divisions. Surely that would be a massive risk in our current, seems to have lasted forever, predicament.
This is the reality. No one likes swimming with sharks but the alternative is crocodiles. We do t have the money, ambition or even the back office staff to put together a plan for a top manager

well he did and come out explaining it was down to his tactics when Kane was out. He packed the midfield and it failed. A manager who actually admitted they tried something different and it failed.
a manager that actually played all the players the fans and media had been calling for to start together.
Did a hell of a turn for the future manager who will be upsetting someone when he isn’t playing grealish, Bellingham, foden and palmer in the same starting line up.

WE cant get sentimental and go with Carsley. Southgate did well with the u21's and his England record on paper is amazing. But we all know he is a crap manager. We need a proper manager as we haven't got room to manoeuvre. We need someone who we can rely to get us out of the mess we are in at the moment as we have dropped points in what is essentially our easiest games of the season

Mate WE aren't picking the next head coach...if rumours are true Thelwell has apparently interviewed Carsley its because he believes he's rightly or wrongly the man for the job.

Thelwell isn't an Evertonian and won't approaching the next appointment on the old bring a blues home nonsense all Evertonians have been conditioned with under Kenwright.

If Carsley gets appointed its because they think he's the right coach to turn it around...nothing more.

It's a much bigger risk though because he's got little experience of club football and the little experience he has had is poor.
