Listening to Thelwell in that interview with Guila from Radio Merseyside, he comes across as a Dyche supporter and thinks he is doing a great job. He also mentioned that Coleman still has it at this level, so on both accounts these new guys need to bin both as I want people with ambition, in both of these roles Manager & DOF
The Coleman statement proves he’s talking utter rubbish.
Coleman can’t stay fit and how many games did he play last season 7? Was it.
The thing is, what else is he going to say,
Probably could have left the Coleman comment out, unless he was pushed on it,
I haven’t listened to it, as I knew it would be a load of drivel.

But him and dyche should be binned asap

Sack for Kevin

The irony for Dyche though is if he does turn it around and get us to a more comfortable position, the more attractive we become to the sort of managers TFG might look to bring in. So as I said in another thread he may be damned either way.
Oh I think Dyche is finished at Everton.

The only question is does he go before Christmas or at the end of the season.

Mind you if he gets us into the top 6...... 😂

I’m mostly just looking at signings. Thelwell bringing in Danjuma and Dyche never using him as an example. The philosophy doesn’t match imo.

I would bet a football man from 2024 would be fine working with Thelwell. Dyche isn’t that.

No one plays him. Spurs, Us, Villarreal have bounced him to Girona on loan again. Which he playing at to be fair.

I actually think that the next DoF appointment is the more important one.

Bring in a top class DoF and let them identify and appoint a manager they can work with.

Personally I'd go with someone like Ragnick and let him get on with it.

If Dyche gets the club away from the relegation zone before the takeover is completed I'd rather if they stick with him till his contract is up at the end of the season. Risky replacing him with a new manager halfway through the campaign.

The club will be alot more attractive for a new manager come June if we are still in the premier League, new owners, new board/staff and new stadium. The squad will need alot of additions in the summer. Get a new manager in early after the season finishes.

He turned down West Ham, who are in a better position, so what would the attraction be here?
Well if you had to pitch the job to an elite manager I think you could at least make a few arguments.

It’s as close to a genuine blank canvas as you’re ever likely to get. A brand new stadium. Brand new well-resourced and ambitious owners. A bunch of hefty contracts expiring next summer trimming a load of fat from the wage bill and clearing the path for a rebuild. A brand new PSR regime that likely favours the increased revenue we will be bringing in.

You are looking at a club that will have had its austerity period, had its playing squad trimmed of deadwood and older players and will be lean and raring to go. An elite DOF and an elite coach can make anything they want of it. The word ‘project’ is overused but this really is an opportunity to get in right at the start of something.

You also have a fanbase that, while desperate for success, has reasonable expectations of what that would be, after years of looking into the abyss. That buys you time to build your project, much more time than you’d get at an elite club where results need to be instant. For a certain type of manager that might hold some appeal over the top clubs where winning every single week is expected and you have to sacrifice long term planning for short term goals.

That would be my pitch anyway.

The club is in a financial hole, so I doubt the new people are just going to make that all disappear and sink funds in though. Americans want these businesses to make money.
