But has never worked with him.

He hasn't worked in club football in 6 years.

Errrm you sure about that mate.

On 1 February 2016, Manchester City announced the signing of Guardiola on a three-year contract, worth €20 million per year . The Spaniard officially took charge of the club on 1 July 2016

On 29 August 2016, Carsley was appointed as Manchester City U18 manager in August 2016. He had a successful 2016–17 season, managing the team to a top place finish in the North Division of the Professional U18 Development League 1 and to the 2017 FA Youth Cup Final. Carsley left the club in June 2017.

Great, worked with him 7 years ago, went to a dead end job with England.

what dead end job. The one where he won the U21's European cup and went on to manage England?

3 years as the U21 coach? Interim coach for England, not even in contention for the job?

I'm done with this conversation, the guy is not qualified to manage Everton.

Love the fact you put a big deal on arteta having worked with pep whilst Carsley hadn't, like it was a seal of approval on arteta, then dismiss it with 'great' when you found out you were completely wrong and Carsley did in fact work with Guardiola.

Move the goalposts why don't ya.

Yet Arteta with zero experience ever managing a team was qualified to manage arsenal, because, yanno, errrm.... Oh yea pep

eh, ok. I only made one post.
Carsley wouldn't be my first choice and I dont think he has the status that Friedkin would want, combine this with his sons disability and his desire to not uproot his family, it's likely a non starter.
But he's clearly a respected coach who did very well with England u21s. I'd wager there were a lot of ridiculous egos in that squad that had to be managed.
No, he doesn't have the club experience but I wouldn't automatically rule him out because of that.
I think he and Weir could make a very good team. The fact that both reached the peak of their playing careers at Everton helps too.

They've worked together in two previous stints mate

Carsley is gonna be a very good manager IMO. Just needs to be given a chance at a club

Carsley as the next manager would give us a rare thing, someone who does understand the club from fan to the history, also one who didn't take the easy route and ride the EFC ex player gravy train coaching role.

Highly rated by some very good judges of talent, already took his coaching badges whilst still playing for us, so showed it was his long term ambition not something he fell into when finished as a player, fact his eldest son is already acting as a DoF at a lower league side shows that mentality runs through the family too.

Relatively young at 50, progressive, seems very good at working with younger players, if he did well I seriously doubt he'd jump ship at the first CL team coming in for him too.

Gives us the chance of running out at BMD with a manager who could be in place long term and completely revolutionise the mentality around the place.

Is it a risk, ofc, is any manager a risk, yup.

Dont mind him on the list and if he interviews well and has a good plan going forward that matches the structure TFG want then is fine with me. I just want the best manager we can who fits the profile they want for the club. This time is hopefully a more selected list of managers not just a list with different styles

Nobody is sacking anyone until the new owners have completed the purchase and done a full review of staff performances.

The fact we are performing over our capabilities to stay in the Premiership at the moment, might buy Dyche the opportunity to get in the players he wants, rather than simply having cover sales and releases with downgrades he can only just afford.
