Ferguson was direct at United, klopp was direct at liverpool theres nothing wrong with direct football.

The issue is when crap managers just lump it up the pitch with no game plan apart from hope it results in a set piece. Then hope we might score from that.

Brentford’s football last season was absolutely grim. They have a few standout results which gets attention on match of the day but there were huge runs of games they’re taking defeat after defeat. We utterly outplayed them at their place when we were in a really low point ourselves.

I don’t blame Frank for that, if I had his players I’d be playing the same way, I think their squad once Eriksen left and without Toney and their new striker is extremely poor.

He’d have better players at Everton but we’re in the Moyes/Martinez scenario again I fear. The fanbase didn’t like Carlo Ancelotti telling them what the most effective way of playing with his players was, I don’t think they’ll have another pragmatist. The fans want another Martinez possession based philosophy first above all else manger. The Friedkins have to make sure they back that candidate with good enough players to carry it out.

This is where you’re so wrong, just because fans don’t like watching the ale house football dyche serves up, doesn’t mean we want Martinez, there is a halfway house.

I want Everton on the front foot and aggressive, I want the team to attack and defend as a team, get players forward quickly in numbers. Get the new ground rocking, not instantly giving the opposition the ball and just booting it back to them, or spend the first 20 minutes passing it along the back, best football I’ve enjoyed in gen last 30 years was under Royle, yes first season was a bit dogs of war, needs must we were in a scrap, but still we had some great performances, Spurs semi final,
Norwich in the cup,
Newcastle at home. Then the following season we had a really good balance, but It was direct at times. But there was a plan and a style. And be able to mix it up against different opponents

Anyone who wants Martinez needs their head reading. Had one of the best National teams around and failed massively, Southgate done a much much better job and no one would want him.
I would happily take Benitez, Allardyce , even Barnes and Mcateer over Martinez, absolutely despise him.

Frank has a much better record than Dyche despite Dyche managing a fair few more more games, TF has a win rate of 45% whereas Dyche is around 35%

Fair enough, but Dyche walked into an absolute shambles that few managers would have been able to cope with. If we appointed Frank instead of Dyche after Lampard, I think we’d have been relegated.

I think we need to upgrade on Dyche, and the upgrade needs to reflect a change in ambition beyond avoiding relegation. I don’t think Frank comes close to doing that.

Same i dont want see us just passing it around goinng nowhere want to a mix, want see us getting out wide trying putting balls into the box. Players looking to attack the ball instead of maybe 1/2 players in there have 3/4 trying to get in and get the goal. I would like frank think would be good here is a step up but js a great chance for him here with a club that has more room to grow

For the next manager we need to be thinking of really competing, I dont see bringing in someone like Frank or Corberan who have had some success, but really are not progressing right now. There will be too many good options at the end of the season as clubs get the itch for change and fire some pretty good managers. If you get the points for midtable again, you have to get someone aiming for 7th.

Why does he and how can you be that much of an idiot to think dyche deserves that, 7 wins in 29 , we’re not Burnley mate and going into a state of the art new stadium with new, hopefully ambitious owners. I wouldn’t keep dyche to clean the changeies
You need to give more respect to Mr Dyche.
He has kept us up and without the point deduction we would be midtable

Some funds and he will get us in to europe

Jep, but you have to say Klopp developed this team, it was pressing and direct at the start and with every year he implemented also the possession-based style.
