I think some on here are going to be disappointed with our transfer spend for some time to come.
We still have PSR to contend with and will likely have a small budget in January, if any.

The financial situation will improve with the new owners. But we can't go the Newcastle path with a new manager coming in spending a lot in january. Mike Ashley is really one of the worst owners in the prem history, but he left the club debtfree unlike Moshiri.

You can only work with the tools you are given and I don’t think Sarri could come in and suddenly make a team that has struggled to complete 5 yard passes for almost a decade now suddenly play some great attractive style of football.

Add the fact that the club aren’t able to bring in new players who can due to the league hating them and years of terrible scouting, recruiting and development staff and you’re going to get Martinez’s last year on steroids with relegation level dross.

I honestly think the clubs salvation will be going down in a sexy new stadium and being forced to nuke absolutely every facet of the metaphysical “Everton”.
So what? Stick with dinosaur managers cuz they don't play sexy footie? Have to take a punt and try for the best you can get. If Sarri is that then we should absolutely go for it and back him in the January window.

We will be debt free once it goes through though, they're clearing it Friedkin or have I misread that somewhere? Should do what Boehly does and sell the training ground to ourselves or something.

Who knows if he's reliable or not. Maybe @AS Roma_fan can confirm? If they are actually Italian and not some Yankee Roma fan.
I'm happy my English hasn't prompted you to discount the possibility of me being a native speaker.

I'm 100% Italian. Not only that. One of my ancestors was with Garibaldi in the expedition of the thousand, My great-grandfather fought against Austria-Hungary in WW1 (bronze medal), my grandfather was in the navy during WW2 (captured by the Germans after the armistice, he endured 2 years of prison in Germany becuse he refused to come back and work for the RSI, the puppet state set-up by Hitler in northern Italy). Few Italians are Italian like me. 😁

Corriere dello Sport is usually trash paper. But...

I think it would be an appointment in Friedkin's style.

You're lucky because there's a specialist for all things Sarri. I'm talking about Alfredo Pedullà. Take a look at his Twitter/X page. If he confirms, then it's 99% true.
