I'm thinking of jacking it all in.... Having worked at every level in industry and then become semi retired picking up lucrative daily rates from companies who keep knocking on the door.......I've decided that I really enjoy just playing with my granddaughter in the garden. Life is very easy just mowing the lawn (which I had a gardener doing for 30 years), playing in a sandpit and kicking a football with this little treasure. I think, finally, I may have discovered what life is really all about. It's very hard to give up working, but I'm now willing to give it a go.............those that know will understand......

There's something ace about just enjoying the simple things mate. Sounds like if you get itchy feet and feel the need to "go back to work" then you'll be able to do so without any probs, so go for it.

I'm not at the point where I want to totally stop yet, but I can well understand the feeling.

That's the thing you see, there's always this ability to 'go back to work' and it keeps you on edge. When you decide 'that's it', you relax for the first time in decades and see things differently..............

A combination of the stress and reward of work with the "simple pleasures" of family life is I guess the ideal.

Of course it is a problem of the privileged, those in that position have a luxury of choice not afforded to many.

But for the rest of us, it's knowing when or if we are ready to just enjoy what we have............

the older I get the more I think all footballers should be forced by their club to be clean shaven, have a nice sensible 'Short back and sides' hair cut and only be allowed to wear proper all black Football boots as part of their contract.
Would keep them all focussed on the game, not titting around stressing about their image, branding and individuality.

We work to be part of a system that compels you to buy things...

But the best things in life aren't things, they're moments...
