Cards on the table I really like Moyes, I think he did a good job here the first time and is sometimes talked about very harshly in overall terms because I think he's a significant level above others that he's sometimes lumped in with. I just can't get on board with him coming back though, it's such a backward looking, dispiriting move. I think he's a long term manager too, he gets better as he goes because he's all about repetition and getting players to buy into what he wants from them, I don't think he's quite the 'safe pair of hands' that he's being painted as to come in at this point.

I don't mind Boyland TBF. O'Keefe is a bad weasel though. Seemed to have been banished to the USMNT after that headlock business, but recently there are signs he might be trying to weasel his way back into covering Everton. The last article I read of his was just after TFG takeover had been confirmed, IMO his article was a subtle suggestion that the BK years are what we should be aiming to get back to. No doubt today's article will be more of the same.

No idea why you're sparing Boyland: he stayed silent when all the accusations were flying round about headlocks. What did he do to avoid being seen in the same light as O'Keeffe?

These hacks are bought and paid for. Their loyalty is to themselves, then Everton owners, then a long long way back Everton fans and Everton's interests as a club.

Ugh, I can see the logic in it, and I'd back him to keep us up, it's just depressing AF though. I long for the day this club does more on the pitch than just firefighting every season and actually looks towards the future.

I don't buy this 'negative football' narrative that Moyes often gets branded with. He's played some exciting football at every club he's been at, including ours.

The United job nearly destroyed him, but at least he was willing to take the job on with SAF's incredible legacy hanging over him. Showed at West Ham that he's still capable of getting a team performing, even if it was a bit up & down at times.

Uninspired for where we all want the club to end up, of course, but in the short term I reckon we could do a lot worse..

It will be interesting to see who comes with him, Moyes usually has a fair extensive team with him but if this is just a short term thing (which appears to be the suggestion) then maybe it won't be his usual mob.

Crux of it for me. Naturally, it comes from perceptions of his time at Everton, naturally and longer term at West Ham.

It's why I've shared his record mid season with a struggling Premier League team.

His record at Sunderland, Man Utd and R.Sociedad indicate how he does short term.

If you want to give him 5+ years, like first Everton stint and West Ham then fair enough. I wouldn't.

So is it Moyes in charge brings Carsley then Moyes upstairs in the summer as DoF with Carsley head coach?

What other solid runners are doing the rounds?
Carsley wants to stay with the under 21's apparently, not interested in any club jobs, got mentioned on the radio before.

Cast your mind back to AFTER Moyes left: the weeks / month before he was finally officially hired and meeting his new United team at their training ground Carrington.

This feller stayed on at Finch Farm and retained his office for that whole month; and he also insisted on being part of the process to decide who succeeded him - putting Stubbs, Weir and Neville forwarded.

He took the absolute piss - even BEFORE his traitorous remarks demanding Everton hand him Baines and Fellaini.

What sort of fan forgets that and hands him a second chance?

Anyone who supports this slap in the face appointment from these clueless owners need to ask themselves where their resolve has disappeared to. WTaF?!?!
